New to the Portland area, in my late 30's, working on getting a credential to teach full-time. Looking to get out and start exercising (bicycling?) more, and get familiar with the area. Was mildly famous for 15 seconds; am hoping it leads to some of my scriptwriting getting more opportunities. Lost my mom in a climbing accident 2 months ago. Partnered for 11 years with the sweetest, most wonderful guy on Earth, who's [always] my #1; you might have a shot at #2 or #3. ;) I love movies and can see 3-4 a week, and can spend hours in a bookstore just browsing. I want my Springsteen and Streisand CDs with me on a desert island. I'm Episcopalian and Democrat, but it's OK if you aren't (just don't try to change me). I believe in hoping for a better tomorrow.
I am generous, wry, and romantic
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to get certified to become a full-time teacher, but I also have several screenplays bopping around Hollywood. Which will pay off first?
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
Curly blonde hair, big grin with one slightly crooked tooth, broad shoulders, knockout (if I say so myself) legs.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book: "Buddies" by Ethan Mordden.
Movie: "E.T." "Psycho" "Harold & Maude" "The Philadelphia Story"
Music: Springsteen, Streisand, Pansy Division, Peggy Lee, Beatles
Foods: warm bread, popcorn, fried chicken, mochas, potatoes
The six things I could never do without
1. My partner Jonathan
2. Going to Barnes and Noble once a week for magazine-reading
3. Seeing a movie at least once every 2 weeks
4. My family's support
5. My friends' love
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to get a screenplay sold, and is it self-indulgent to pursue this dream when I could be getting my teaching credential. Hence, I try to juggle both. Right now I'm also thinking about getting our house together, since we're newly moved in.
On a typical Friday night I am
If the reviews are good, I'm at a newly-released movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have very few secrets (they tend to get you in trouble), so I don't know what's especially private. OK, I have a weakness for dark-haired and redheaded guys, so those pics usually grab my attention first; if you're shorter than I am, that's an added plus. (Which means that one of my crushes, surprisingly, is Peter Dinklage.)
You should message me if
You know a part of Portland I should explore/see, and you're the person to do it. I'll buy the coffee. And if you HAPPEN to have a fondness for bears (Woof!), it can't hurt. My partner will need to sign off on you if/when we decide there's potential for Playtime, but just friends is fine too.
