My self-summary
I'm the kind of person who likes walks on the beach, romantic dinners and hates trying to think of a self summary that doesn't sound totally generic.

*sigh*

Ok seriously. Me? I'm just a guy looking to find someone cool to have fun with.

I like to think I'm smart, but then everybody does I suppose. I do have a irreverent streak so be prepared for that.

I'm a local to the bay area, but still love the exploring the San Francisco and the lands around it. There is always some interesting event, show, restaurant or cool drinking hole to explore in this place.

This profile is a work in progress (then again so are our lives).

What I’m doing with my life
Creating overly elaborate plans in order to take over the world...

But that's just a side hobby. By day I work at a mortgage company. At other times I tend to keep myself pretty busy exploring SF with friends (hikes, brunches, game nights).

I used to be a really avid photographer, and after recently helping some friends with various photo projects, I'm started trying to get back into it.

I’m really good at
I'm good at being both analytical and frivolous, a combination I'm quite proud of. I like to keep my right and left brain in balance.

My friends say I'm a really good cook, and love trying new dishes, though I'm not able to do this as often as I like within schedule. I excel in improving dishes on short notice, and thinking up of new variations on old themes (recently I made some mango curry fried rice that was quite popular).

I've also been told I'm a pretty good dancer, though I have trouble believing it.

What I'm really bad at: getting enough sleep.

The first things people usually notice about me
This wouldn't technically be sonething you could tell right away, but people tell me that I look a lot younger than I am.

I've also been told I have a pretty nice beard.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Mostly indie/alternative with a little jazz and chiptunes tossed in. I used have a list of bands that managed to look long and pretentious, so here are my top three plus whatever I'm into when I last updated this:
- Los Campesinos!: An insanely talented group from Cardiff England.
- They Might Be Giants: One of the first bands that I ever loved, I've never really grown out their nerd rock anthems.
- Duke Ellington: He's best known for his 20's era hits, but his later works are what I really love.
- Bright Eyes: Conor Oberst's song writing still gets me.
- What I'm listening to a lot now: Beirut, The Drums, Yelle, The Roots, The New Pornographers, The Hold Steady, The Muppets Movie soundtrack

Books: Good Omens, The Undercover Economist. Scott Pilgrim (the graphic novel is much better than the movie) and anything by Carl Sagan, Paul Krugman or Sarah Vowell.

Movies: The Royal Tenenbaums, The Big Lebowski, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python and the Life of Brian, Fight Club, The Clockwork Orange, Existenz, Waking Life, Ghostbusters

Teevee Shows: For a while I wasn't watching to much TV but a friend recently got me hooked on Community. I also like some of the more interesting Anime series out there like FLCL and Durarara! Finally I'm a fan Futurama, as well as of the Daily Show and The Colbert report (but who isn't). Finally, I've just started joining the Dr. Who reboot bandwagon...though I have to say that I kind of prefer the format of the old series.

The six things I could never do without
1. San Francisco (I'm still in love with this city)
2. My music collection.
3. A really good meal.
4. My smartphone (I know, these things are the modern day opium, but I can't help myself).
5. Friends & Family (unoriginal answer I know, but it really is true).
6. The Google.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
My friends. Especially now days. Some of then haven't fared the recent economic storms as well as I have.

Recently I've been thinking a lot about this digital social life that our society has built up in the past few years. It's kind of interesting pondering where this is all going to go eventually.

But eventually I also start thinking about what interesting events or places to go to (and then actually doing it of course).

On a typical Friday night I am
Kind of want to avoid writing about the generic stuff most people engage in on a Friday (hanging out with friends at some bar etc) so I'll mention that I'm involved in a Meetup group where we watch a movie and then get into pretty in depth talks about it over a beer or two (we often endup meeting on a Friday).

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I know the kids are all getting their music digitally now, and the really cool kids are getting their tunes on vinyl, but I still like buying CD's.

Also I'm way better at Dance Dance Revolution than anyone my age really should be.

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25-36
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
- You know a place in the city which has good crispy tacos.
(Seriously. I love me a mission burrito as much as the next person but the soft tacos most taquerias have do little for me.)

- You can't believe it's not butter.

- You are fellow photographer and might be interested in doing a photo excursion though some corner of the city.

- If we have a high enemy percentage.  Not for dating purposes, I just think it would be cool to have an arch enemy.

- If you feel you have the answer to the age old philosophical question: which is the better super power, flight or invisibility.

- If you've read this far and any of this profile amuses you.
