I love to read since I was about 5 and my mother started to noticed it, too as she bought me my first book and more ever since and now I bought a lot of books on my own..I noticed that most of my friends hate to read. However most of them like to read graphic novels because it's easier to read than regular novels or memoirs. For me, I love to read any type of books but I love to read fiction novels. It helps me improve my English skills so I think people should read any type of books than just graphic novels even they are understandable to read. At least graphic novels helps them improve their English skills little bit. I know that it's hard for them to read if their English are low. It will be nice for them to like to read because it helps your mind to process better and imagine better in the image of the real world other than just movies. I guess everyone has a favorite type of reading and I can't force them to read my type of reading. I even love to read graphic novels and comics sometimes. They takes about a few hours to one day to finish while regular novels and others take about two to four weeks unless if they are very interesting then it will take about few days to one week.
