My self-summary Propose an edit

So I guess I could spend some time detailing a laundry list of items that I am looking for. Or I could detail a list of who I am, or what I am like, or what my friends think of me... but lets face it, these things all sound the same and usually you just glance through this paragraph to make sure I don't sound bitter or crazy. So lets cut to the chase. Here is what you may want to know... I work full time in a job that I don't hate but I don't love. However, that job allows me to pursue what I do love, and that is theatre. I am a working actor, director, and stage manager in community theatre. This tends to keep me pretty busy, so that makes it rather difficult to meet people. I guess you would describe me as fairly outgoing and talkative, and I tend to be pretty sarcastic and if you can make me laugh that goes a really long way with me!

I can find something interesting just about anywhere, and I love learning new things. I like improv comedy, musical theater,80's music, old cartoons, classic novels, astrology, classic rock and strawberries. I don't like green peppers. I hate moths. I think short sentences are fun.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Well, as much as I love working in theatre - it just doesn't pay the bills. So I do have a day job as an Academic Counselor at a private college. I did graduate from college, so I have that oh-so-important piece of paper that says I can remember facts and I'll be repaying students loans forever. I guess thats what I am doing with my life. I'm working during the day to pay off said piece of paper and the rest of the time I'm just doing what I love.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Just about anything creative - Acting, Directing, Writing, Singing, Music, etc.

I'm really good at lots of other things too. I'm really good at crossword puzzles... OH and do your remember that game dots? Where you have a bunch of dots on a piece of paper and you try to make the most squares... that was a fun game...But I was never really that good at it. So maybe that shouldn't be on this list. I am really good at Scrabble though. And Monoply... and Stratego... and Battleship.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

This is just an unfair question. If I say something like "my eyes" well, then thats the same as about 80% of the other profiles on here. If I say something like "my rack" well then I just sound like a whore. So what if I say my left elbow?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books: I read a lot. Favorite book of all time is Les Miserables. I tend to love a lot of classics and non-fiction. Of course I'm reading scripts all the time too.

Movies: Big fan of dark comedy (i.e. Heathers, House of Yes) Also love Swingers, Made, Heat, Office Space, Cannibal The Musical, The Muppet Movie, Clerks, Mallrats, hmm, I enjoy most movies. I also have a fondness for old-school horror flicks. Vincent Price era type stuff.

Music, well lets see whats on my ipod right now... Harry Connick Jr, Chris Isaak, The Ramones, Pizzacato Five, a bunch of musical soundtracks, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Cherry Poppin Daddies and other older-ska music, They Might Be Giants, Bare Naked Ladies, and Dave Matthews Band just to name a few.

Food: I'll try anything once - I love to try new things! Eating the same boring stuff all the time is no fun.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

Ok, so I've been thinking about how to improve my answer to this question. So in my attempt to be more honest here, may I present my NEW list of six things I could never do without:

1. The stage. I know this was on my old list, but I can't imagine my life without it. Acting and Directing are the two things that keep me sane.

2. Wasabi Peas. I mean, really, they are just the yummiest Dried-vegetable-with-horseradish snack there ever was, right?

3. My dog. I have the sweetest Australian Terrier. I'm much more of a dog person than a cat person. I used to have a cat though. I named him Alf. Extra points if you know why thats funny.

4. Toothpaste. Hey, oral hygene is big with me. And I just can't start the day with out that minty fresh feeling. hm... maybe I should start working for crest or colgate...

5. My closest friends. I am lucky enough to have a very tight circle of friends whom I love. We've been through a lot together and I know we'll be through a lot more. My wish is that everyone should have the kind of friends I have. Ok - that was pretty sappy wasn't it? Sorry.

Wow, this is getting hard. It was so much easier when I just had the same answers here that everyone else put.

6.The written word. Be it books, websites, blogs, plays, magazines, newspapers, etc. I'm a writer myself, and I read a ton. Lately I read mostly plays, but I still love to read.

Ok - so there you go. My revised list of 6 things I could never do without. I hope you like it better.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

Hmm... I spend a lot of time thinking about pointless things... like why I continue to use the disposable coffee cups at work when I have a perfectly good ceramic one on my desk. Or how the lady that sits near me at work can eat a bag of microwave popcorn every day for lunch without getting bored.

I also think about more deep things like my own theory of free will versus fate... its an interesting theory you should ask me about if you are interested. I also keep a blog of things I find interesting. I tend to write in it quite a bit and I constantly amuse myself as I do. I'm not sure if anyone that reads my blog is that entertained by it - but I certainly am! If you are really good and if you ask nicely I may tell you my blog address.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Either in a show or watching a show (be it theatre or music) I know - its a boring answer - but hey - its the truth... thats what I do :)

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

Ok, so my first instinct was to write "then its not private, or you have to get to know me first" but that’s no fun... ok - so hmm, something private - well, I had lasik about 2 years ago - but before that I had worn glasses for so long that I subconsciously made my own dreams blurry unless I slept in my glasses. Wait thats not private - thats just embarrasing.

You should message me if Propose an edit

I'm just looking to meet some new people. Sure, I'd like to find that "special someone" but I'm not rushing into that. Lets just take this one step at a time.

So you should message me if you have any of the same interests that I do, or if you don't have any of the same interests I do, or if something I said interests you, or if nothing I said interests you at all... hows that?
