My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a professional musician in DC. INFP if that means anything to you.

I'm a fun, intelligent, honest guy that is looking
for that new best friend with whom I love to spend as much time as possible. I'm loyal, dependable, honest with my feelings, and have an integrity with my personal relationships that I take pride in.

I'm not that bad of a person.

Yes I am. I am greedy and like being right and really hot sex. But who doesn't want to be right or have their brains fucked out? I mean, I'm polite, I don't cause problems, I don't hurt anyone and don't want to, ever. Sure, I drink too much sometimes, sure I don't take the best care of myself, but I am glad I am me and I will stand behind the decisions I make no matter what everyone thinks. I care about people. I am trying to do something that anyone can enjoy or use to feel better about things. We are all so lonely and horny and doing everything we can to catch someone's eye. If you want me, ask me, you can probably have me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I sing professionally as a full-time member of the professional roster of a large DC church, as well as freelance singing wherever. Singing is my dream job, and I'm happy and proud I can be doing it successfully. Despite feeling like I shouldn't have to explain myself here, don't let the fact that I work for a church deter you - I know republicans who work for the Obama administration, and they sleep just as well as I do. It's a great job, it pays well, I love my coworkers, and the institution I work for has integrity and is truly a great place for the community and for what it represents in the World. If you are curious about my religious beliefs, please ask, and don't pass judgment based on what you've read here. I've got a lot more going on than what's just on this profile...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
With my partner? Listening and keeping an open mind. Unconditional love. No, really. Just love, love, love. No questions asked, no promises implied, just simple, beautiful love.
The first things people usually notice about me

I can be highly energetic. I'm subject to those lovely Arian fits of energy that last a couple of hours that are followed by an obligatory nap. I'm fun like that.

I like things beautiful, emotional, and just a little bit melancholy.

I am a huge bibliophile and I am a big cinemaphile, although I probably don't know as much about movies as I like to think I do... I like anything well-made, where they pay attention to making something of substance (although I do love early John Waters, too), not these big blockbusters or no-soul remakes that try and 'update' a well-made film. I like to be moved and I always love when a film has me asking more questions at the end than at the start. (Also: I don't hate the blockbusters or popular movies. They just aren't my usual diet. Believe me, I love Bridesmaids and that awful Clash of the Titans remake as much as I love Melancholia, Dogville/Manderlay, and The Color of Pomegranates...)

Ok, here we go:

Classical music: Bach, Puccini,
Mozart, Schutz, Britten, Howells, Finzi, Scriabin, Schumann,
Chopin.... Other music: The Beatles, Roisin Murphy, Tori Amos,
Bjork, Phoenix, ABBA, The Faint, Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Brian Eno, Blondie, Boards of Canada, Massive Attack, Matmos...

Books? Almost anything.
Nonfiction has just as much of a place on my bookshelf as fiction.

Movies: intellectual, dark, funny and sometimes a bit sad... Horror, Lars von Trier, weird Bollywood, Paul Thomas Anderson, John Waters, Sam Mendes, classics, crappy horror films....

Tv: Six Feet Under, House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Nurse Jackie, and Supernatural. Dear god yes Supernatural. Team Dean all the way.

Food: food. I love it, and all kinds - Chicken Pasanda or miso soup or Moo Goo Gai Pan or cassoulet or a nice good old-fashioned bacon cheeseburger - but oddly enough, I'm picky in a very arbitrary way. I'm not a big drinker, but I do love a glass of wine now and then (I worked at a Washington State winery for three years) and won't say no to a nice Gin and Tonic. Not really into beer, but am open minded - wanna teach me? ;-)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Music
2. Someone to talk my usual nonsense to.
3. Anne Sexton.
4. Benjamin Britten.
5. A piano.
6. A book.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Music... I know it makes me sound really boring, but I can't help it... It's the one thing that has given me as much as I have given it consistently.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Maybe at home watching a movie? Or reading? Or cooking an overly-complex meal which I will barely eat any of because I am full from munching. Or going out with friends - hearing a concert or watching a play or opera or just having a good old fashioned bar-crawl.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am depressingly unphotogenic. No, really. Something about my face having absolutely ZERO angles makes it impossible to get a decent photograph. Not that I don't think I'm attractive - in person, I think I'm quite handsome, thank-you-very-much, but in photographs I always look like I'm missing a chromosome.

Also, that's really not the most private thing in willing to admit. You don't get that til we've been on a couple dates.

You are interesting, funny and enjoy spontaneity with a side of weirdo. Also if you've visited my profile and you find me interesting. There is a lot more to Nick than what is on this profile...

Bonus points if you'd follow the Winchesters into hell, have a book collecting problem, must finish the hat, or know who Johnny Truant is.

Also, you get major points if you've read this far and use my name in your message. :-)
