My Notes edit

My self-summary

I'm a geeky gamer boy that is fiercely individual. I'm a big fan of RPGs and stratagy games, but I play every kind but sports games. I frequently will be playing a game that takes only half my brain while listening to a book on tape. I read a fair amount, but mostly while I am away from home. When I am home I use books on tape; partly because I can listen to them while gaming, partly because I can fall asleep when a tape ends where with books I keep reading until I pass out.

My center to all my geekness is history, particularly war history. I basically enjoy everything between Greco-Persian wars up through the American Civil War. I do everything from take history classes for the fun of them, to visiting actual battle fields (they make great day trips and hikes).

I also read manga and watch anime. I am a huge fan of ABe's work, but I only own "Lain" due to the great anime divide of 2004 between me and my brother. I cosplay occationaly, though I don't make my won costumes. Instead I end up paying one of my friends that is skilled with sowing to do them for me.

I should also mention my fascination with surreal horror. It began with Silent Hill, and bloomed from there. I've read various Love Craft stories, played all of the Silent Hill series. I watched the movie, which I found decent. The first half was better then the third in my opinion. Loved that they took music from the originals, and some of the scenes were taken from the original down the the camera angle.

What I'm doing with my life

I'm in a period of transition. I'm doing a little work, and a little school, and a little writing while trying to figure out where I am going. I'm currently working and looking at going back to school in something a bit more practical then history.

I'm really good at

Invading virtual Europe. Its become a weekly thing. I am also working on being a pretty good Game Master for D&D and World of Darkness. I've been told I've done amazing awesome, and pretty bad by the same person about the same session.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

Long hair, as its unusual for a guy to have long hair. And that even when I shave I have a five o'clock shadow by noon.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Terry Pratchett's, Discworld Series, Bone, Lord of the Rings, Orsin Scott Cards Ender Saga, George R Martings Song of Ice and Fire Series, The Road to Serfdom, HP Lovecraft and Edger Alan Poe (Fall of the House of Usher <3)

Music: Ramstein, Metalica, Coheed and Cambria, Within Temptation, Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones (more coming as I remember them). A whole bunch of sound tracks.

Movies & TV: LOTR, Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Saw, The Last Unicorn (origonal cut), Secret Window, A&E's Nero Wolfe adaptation, Fire Fly, Heroes, Family Guy, Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heavens Door, Deathnote

Games: Europa Universalis 3, Crusader Kings, Baldurs Gate 1&2, Planescape Tourment, Mass Effect, Silent Hill 0,1,2&3, Civilization 4, Fatal Frame 1&2, Final Fantasy 4&6

Food: Parogies! You stuff potato and cheese (and sometimes meat or veggies) inside a pasta shell and fry them in butter. What's not to love? Also crab, but that's expensive now that I moved out west.

The six things I could never do without

A good book, A good friend, A good love, A good nights sleep, A good home, A good roll in the hay

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The works of the world, and how the world as worked. This has lead me to be a classical liberal, with my primary concerns being personal freedom above all else.

I also write a bit, often more in my head then on paper. I have a dozen first chapters on my computer, but they and more are all floating around in my head. I just need the commitment to get them out.

On a typical Friday night I am

The same thing we do every night Pinky! Try and take over the world!

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I shed like a dog. Seriously. I almost need to use one of those pet hair rollers to clean my apartment. And since I have long hair the problem is even worse.

You should message me if

Your a pretty geek who wants a free dinner, and a walk in the park. Or to conquer the world together. Which ever.
