My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
ME? Creative. Dreamy. Analytic. Empathetic. Aware. Appreciative. Convicted enough to use adjectives like this about myself.

Also not remotely interested in "the Gay Scene", because I think it legitimises trauma instead of encouraging evolving, and tries to compensate for the pain of oppression with a hypocritical kind of collectivism. Just thought I'd put that out there.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
So a year ago, I left inner-Sydney and the advertising scene, and moved to quieter Newcastle where I manage the international marketing and communications for the university (but I still spend lots of time in Sydney). I'm enjoying not feeling like I have to dress up to buy a carton of milk, and I very much like being connected to nature. I do miss things being open at night, and the twinkle of the lights, and the feeling of potential connection (you take it for granted in the Big Smoke, trust me). But over all, it was a good idea. I've just signed another 12 month contract, so... here I stay for now.

I'm also very active in creative projects outside of work. At the end of the day, I'm a writer, and I spend a lot of time in that space. I also make music. And I've been lucky enough to be able to do both these loves professionally; but neither are they confined to my job, and I partly left Sydney so I could have a better space for my own stuff.

Having said that, I'm in a period where I also give a lot to my career, and enjoy giving it. However, I clash with people who hang their entire identity upon their business card, and I don't judge others by their jobs or salaries. I know a lot of successful people who are really quite painful, and I know a lot of waiters who are beautiful souls.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

I love art of all kinds, but particularly film and music. Random arists/pieces I like: anything by David Lynch, film noir, Beach House, Marissa Nadler, Kasper Bjorke. I always say if my heart had a sound, it would be violin (and they feature heavily in my own compositions). But really, my tastes are pretty varied - I'll happily spend a morning listening to classical music, or I could bop around the house to Madonna, or spend hours searching online for the latest underground electronica (I used to be a DJ, and still get on the decks every now and then). I don't watch much TV, though I'm a bit of a fanboy of American Horror Story.

Food-wise, as I get older I definitely like a nice restaurant. I do love Mexican food. Except now the hipsters like it. Fucking hipsters.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Creativity... the ocean... love... my cats... rollercoasters... and, um... nachos.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking. About lots of things.

I had someone last night message me to say "You think too much"; to which I said, "Or perhaps you don't think enough?"

I wish the whole world were on OK Cupid, so I could look at their questionaires and filter out people who want to be cut during sex or who think everyone should own a gun.
