goofy, sensitive, and rather nomadic
My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm quirky, for sure, very outspoken, and comfortable in my skin,
even to a fault.
Travel is important
to me, as is art in various forms. Three things that give me
absolute, pure, total, complete, all-consuming joy are: working
with hot glass, cooking meals for people that I care
about, and snowboarding.
Also, I'm not interested in casual sex. Period. End of story. Don't
even try. I'm also not interested in poly-anything arrangements,
except possibly poly-friend arrangements. I don't have any ethical
qualms with it, but it's not for me. I don't want to share.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I'm teaching ESL in the Seattle area. I teach people who have
relocated to Seattle to work for Microsoft. Well, usually I teach
their family members. I really enjoy it. I'm probably going to hit
the road and go back to Korea (or maybe somewhere else) sometime
after the holidays. Hooray.
Since it's November, I'm supposed to be writing a novel, but as of
10:18 p.m. November 10th, I haven't started. Fifty thousand words
is looking mighty long right now.
I'm trying to re-learn French. I still speak it with a degree of
competency, but my vocabulary has diminished and I have a
significantly limited comfort zone when it comes to verb tenses.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Cooking, talking, listening, art, writing, adventuring, honesty,
finding items in random patterns (like four-leafed clovers and
Waldo).
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
Ask them. Depends on what I'm wearing and doing, I suppose. I've
got nice eyes and a nice butt (I'm told).
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
a) A Chorus of Stones by Sue Griffin, the Little House books by
Laura Ingalls Wilder (yeah, I'm a sentimental fool), KOOLAIDS by
Rabih Alameddine, books by Phillippa Gregory when I want some some
escapism, Freakonomics, cookbooks in general (I'm the only person I
know who reads cookbooks for fun), the Tao Te Ching... I like
non-fiction, too. I'm currently poring over Writer's Market
2009.
B) He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not; The Very Long Engagement; Amelie;
Kill Bill vols 1&2; What the Bleep Do We Know?!... the Indiana
Jones trilogy... I dunno. As long as it isn't mushy and crappy I'll
probably like it. I do enjoy adrenaline movies with stuff that
blows up, but I also like stuff that's in another language.
C) Cat Power,
rocketship, Wallflowers, Slowpoke, Veruca Salt, Lucinda Williams,
The Velvet Underground, Belle & Sebastian, Johnny Cash, R.E.M.,
Manu Chao, Lush, The Tragically Hip, My Bloody Valentine, 3eb, Ugly
Cassanova, Modest Mouse, cornershop, bond, Simon & Garfunkel,
Kylie Minogie, radiohead, Rasputina, 3 doors down, Pepper, Ween,
Gorillaz, Mojave 3, Echo & the Bunnymen, Counting Crows, Stroke
9, Syrup USA, Norah Jones, Interpol, Idaho, the Sea & Cake,
Goldfrapp, the Tindersticks, Bing Crosby, etc. I like most things.
I recently came to ADORE Sigur Ros. If you are in Sigur Ros,
please message me so I can make you cupcakes.
D) Vegetarian stuff, except for cheese, which I love even though
it's not technically vegetarian. I love spicy food and I
love trying new foods. So people who aren't adventurous eaters and
I usually don't get along as well as we could. I miss kimchi chige
horribly. I love to cook, so I usually eat pretty well. If you're
in the mood for Korean, I make pretty decent doenjang chige.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Other than food, water, clothing, and shelter, I guess hope is
really it. Things that I would prefer to not forego include family,
bathing, toilet paper, the natural world, and books.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
My future. Why man created god in his own image, and insisted it
was the other way around. Men. Women. Friends. Weather. Words.
Certain people. Uncertain people.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Usually relaxing.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I'm going to keep that to myself, thanks.

You've checked me out more than once and are still trying to decide
if you think I'm interesting or not. Or you know me already and
want to hang out.
