I am observant, passionate, and reserved.

My Self-Summary

I'm a pretty average person with goals and expectations like everyone else. I love reading but there's certain books that really annoy me just by their existence; mainly books that attempt to qualify as literature and in fact are merely trash (i.e. books written solely for the purpose of making money rather than to be creative and inspire thought shallow or otherwise; I understand everyone wants to make a buck but there have to be some limits).

Additionally, I try not to make snap judgements but I really don't like it when people take out their frustration or anger on the people around them. Especially since most of the time getting angry doesn't really solve any problems, it just exacerbates what's probably unimportant when viewed from a greater standpoint.

I also think horror movies are boring; mainly because it's hard for me to get into the plot and find it believable.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I'm working on my undergrad as a history major but I really want to go to law school afterwards. I'm also excited about studying abroad next year in Japan!

I'm also working in retail for the summer before I leave for Japan and I'm really beginning to despise about 78-85% of the people who walk through the door. People seriously need to think more about how they treat others; it shows a strong lack of character to abuse and berate people who are obligated to help you.

I’m really good at

I'm really good at seeing things objectively but I'm not just a fence-sitter. I'll take a position on important issues but I won't make a decision just so I have an answer, I'd rather find out all the arguments before committing myself.

Also I love to dance and I'm fairly decent when I get a chance to, which sadly isn't that often.

The first things people usually notice about me

I don't really know what people first notice about me...possibly my slight lack of overt expressions? I tend to not show much of what I'm thinking on my face, though I've gotten better at doing so. (It rather tends to alienate people when my face is neutral)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My favorite books are: Germinal, The Handmaid's Tale, The Third Chimpanzee, The Tale of Genji, Jeeves and Wooster Series, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter Series, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Eragon Series, Death Comes for the Archbishop, Evangeline, Much Ado About Nothing(Yes, I know it is a play), Discworld Series, Furuba, 1984, Brave New World, History of the Medici, The Prince's Handbook and the Art of War by Machiavelli, Brave New World, Pride and Predjudice, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Night, The Hobbit, Animal Farm, The Call of the Wild, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Narnia Series, The Hiding Place, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, The Importance of Being Earnest, Persepolis, The Bloody Chamber, Akira, Watership Down etc...

My favorite movies are: Stranger than Fiction, The Lion in Winter, Spirited Away, The Wind in the Barley, and anything with awesome dialogue really

My favorite music: changes all the time depending on my mood. Right now I think Sophie Ellis Bextor is fun...

The six things I could never do without

Conversation, my laptop, a good internet connection, books, my pets, and my ipod.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think about everything. What I want out of life, how I want to achieve my goals, what I'll be doing in the next few years. I think about my friends the most though.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with my friends, studying, or sleeping.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I think I might be stupider than people think and I'm terrified of being a dissapointment to my friends and family. Though I guess it's mainly a matter of looking at myself and having difficulty seeing what I must present to the world at large.

You should message me if

You're random and fun but not a psychopath.

P.S. My home is in Texas and I usually attend university in New Orleans, LA but right now I'm studying for a year in Tokyo, so I'm sort of all over the place....basically that means, right now I'm in Japan!
