My self-summary
Still a work in progress. In the meantime know that I am a confident gal secure in how I fit with the world. I can be pretty coolio or dorky depending on your sensibilities. I like gardens, knitting, sunshiny days by the beach, good books, music (i play the violin), playing squirt guns with my 9 year old daughter and her friends, making smiles, and relaxing in a hammock.... and bonfires under the stars are also pretty damn terrific.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to maneuver thru it to the best of my abilities. I am a full time momma to a fabulously marvelous 9 year old girl. I Play violin for fun and would love to start up a funky quartet/band. To pay the bills I work as a nurse... I am also a licensed massage therapist but don't really do much with that. I heartily enjoy Outdoor fun, good company, cooking, yoga, and playing music. I try not to get too charged up about life's daily catastrophes and enjoy the good moments that come my way. Mostly just taking it all in and avoiding the rip tides.
The six things I could never do without
*violin and bow
*friends and family to have fun and play music with
*good food (sushi being a guilty pleasure of mine)
*Humboldt Fog cheese and crusty french bread (ok I know this is included in the good food category but, truly I can't live or at least live happily with this cheese. it is really damn good
*live theatre/movies (I have a masters in directing live theatre. I like anything from shakespeare to christopher durang. jim jarmusch to romero.
*laughter (in any form. without laughter life can get pretty damn dreary)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Sorting out the complexities of modern life. What make people do the kinds of things they do. How to avoid eating crap food. My next adventure.
On a typical Friday night I am
enjoying a fun movie night with my kidlet or at friends enjoying some good food and wine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
that I am addicted to watching Once upon a time and even though it is a bit over the top and cheezy... I love the cheezy and it's so fairy tale twists and turns, for instance peter pan is portrayed as a self-absorbed maniacal over indulged pre-teen that kidnaps children who utter "I believe" ... I think the twist is nicely poetic.
You should message me if
you play an instrument and want to get together to have fun making some music...

you find you have no one to go to the new theatre production at the guthrie and want some company...

you have the urge to go out and listen to some jazz at the dakota club and/or the artist's quarter...

you think, hey she sounds kind of cool I wouldn't mind seeing if she's as cool as her profile or if it's a ruse to hide her crazy...
