hooray! we survived another (non) apocalypse!

just to be perfectly clear, I'm still not actively seeking new friends or potential romantic partners, for all the same reasons - I'm prone to bouts of hermititis, I work out of town, etcetera, etcetera. anyone who's been by before knows the drill.

so if you email me and I don't reply, please don't take it personally - I'm sure you're wonderful, interesting, attractive and etcetera - I just don't respond to all that many emails. and to be honest, the ones I do respond to are kind of random - it usually has more to do with how energetic and sociable I'm feeling on any given day than on the person the email is from :p

see friends. do stuff around the house. run errands. visit with family. do laundry. do mending. go to the doctor slash chiropractor slash massage therapist slash hairdresser slash whatever other appointments need to be fit in. find time to sleep...
GET ON A PLANE AND GO BACK TO WORK. REPEAT CYCLE.

I like to think that I make a good first impression, and certainly people don't run away screaming upon meeting me... I'll take that as a win, thanks.

tell you what - when you meet me, you can tell me, and then I'll have a proper answer to put here.

(a) fantasy and science-fiction, romance novels, mystery and suspense. never horror.

(b) I love action movies and sci-fi/fantasy movies - not so keen on comedy/romance. never horror. ever.

(c) a little of everything, but mostly Synth-Pop, EBM/Industrial, Brit-Pop. I never get tired of 80's pop and New Wave/New Romantic.

(d) Indian, Vietnamese. (though of course you can never go wrong with a burger and fries or other similar pub-food ^_^)

I believe that everything should be considered expendable, because it can all be taken away or lost in a heartbeat.

that being said, I think I'd flounder around helplessly if I didn't have a computer (with internet access!), a camera, a phone and my tablet (mostly for books, but sometimes also for interneting and the odd game here or there).

if I'm on-shift I spend my Friday night sleeping so that I can get up at o'dark stupid and go to work Saturday morning.

if I'm at home, I'm either out with friends, or curled up on the couch with a book.

if you're NOT looking for a date, but would like to expand your social circle.

oh, and if you don't mind that my response will likely be slower than sub-zero molasses in arriving.
