I love nearly all kinds of music, from classical to classic rock,
from jazz to metal. My first love has always been metal bands with
really great guitar players, like Ozzy (Randy Rhoads was god!),
older Helloween, Satriani, etc., but my tastes are pretty diverse.
On any given day, you might catch me listening to Beethoven one
moment, Springsteen the next, Coltrane after that, and maybe on to
some Iron Maiden from there. It's all good.
I'm a big Stephen King fan. There's just something about the way
that man weaves a tale. It really doesn't matter what it is, could
be a recipe for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and he'd find a
way to make it compelling. My favorite of his works is Wizard and
Glass, from the Dark Tower series, but I've loved almost everything
he's ever written.
I'm a bit of a sci-fi geek (OK, more than a bit), so Timothy Zahn
and Frank Herbert are favorite authors as well.
And of course, can't forget Tolkein.
Is it less than manly of me to admit I've read all seven Harry
Potter books, and loved them all?
I also enjoy comics and graphic novels. Watchmen is one of my all
time favorite books. The movie was awesome if you're a fan, but I
can see why a lot of people who hadn't read the book didn't quite
I'm a HUGE movie lover (and I don't just say that because a good
chunk of my living comes from making them). I could spend all day,
and then some, listing my favorites. I'll try and limit this to
just a few off the top of my head:
Harvey, Interview with the Vampire, Legends of the Fall, Princess
Bride, the original Star Wars trilogy (NOT the new ones! I usually
just pretend those don't exist. Life's happier that way.), Lord of
the Rings, Aliens, Shawshank Redemption, The Usual Suspects, Pulp
Fiction, Wrath of Kahn, Fight Club
I'd better stop there. I really could go on all day with
Again, I could go on all day. I've got a long list of favorites,
from modern shows, all the way back to the invention of TV itself.
Here's a small sampling. I'll try to keep it relatively
Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, Spartacus,
True Blood, Farscape, Boston Legal, Mythbusters, just about
anything on the History Channel or Science Channel
I love really spicy foods, the hotter the better. Having said that,
my tastes are quite diverse. Here's a small sampling of
Japanese - I LOVE sushi!
Thai - A really good Panang curry just may be one of the few foods
on this planet that I'd consider to be worth its weight in
Korean - Korea House in Williamsville is one of my favorite places.
I've learned not to argue with the old woman who waits tables. She
won't let me order anything not authentic, and she's ALWAYS right
about what's good.
Chinese - And I don't mean the buffet.
Good pizza - I grew up in the NYC area, so when I say "good pizza",
I mean GOOD pizza, not the mushy greasy stand-in that far too many
places around here serve. Yes, I'm a pizza snob, and proud of it.
Duff's wings - This is one of the things that makes living around
Italian - Carraba's Calamari Ricardo is to die for.
