Currently home for the summer.
Just finished teaching English abroad in a small village in Germany. Quite unsure of the future, but will be traveling between Germany and the U.S for the coming years.
When not traveling or teaching, I can sit down and enjoy anything and everything science fiction, Medieval, usually in the form of Netflix binges.
What I’m doing with my life
Finishing first year of teaching in Germany, will be returning the following Fall (September) to teach in Cologne. Spending the summer at home in Detroit.
Will most likely end up as a teacher, but traveling and enjoying the sights before I begin real life.
I’m really good at
German, acting, making jokes of/reacting disproportionately to most situations, making faces.
The first things people usually notice about me
My voice is meant for the radio; I look like David Tennant
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything Shakespeare, anything Medieval, The Great Gatsby, World War Z, House of Leaves, Watchmen, All the King's Men, James Bond series, A Song of Ice and Fire, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court
Movies: V for Vendetta, Watchmen, James Bond series, science fiction (Alien series, Prometheus, Star Trek, any of the B-Movie variety)
Shows: Mad Men, Star Trek (any and all series), Doctor Who, Bob's Burgers, Rick and Morty, Game of Thrones, Arrested Development, Archer, Parks and Recreation, Spoils of Babylon, Penny Dreadful
The six things I could never do without
Lufthansa, Doctor Who, Slurpees, Exchange Students, a provocative book, and my stuffed raccoon Rocky.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
where I may end up, my next trip abroad, how long it takes before Germans notice my accent (much like Michael Fassbender in Inglorious Basterds).
On a typical Friday night I am
either heading out to town with friends, devising some major trip
abroad, or (given the weather across the country recently)
You should message me if
you have something to say!
