My self-summary
I'm a farm-boy from central Kansas who left the country to pursue a scholarly life. I'm sensitive and caring, adventurous and passionate, generous and trusting. While naturally introverted (INTP), I'm ebullient once you get to know me. I over-think things way too often (this profile for one).

My philosophy is that this is the one life I have to live, so there's no sense in asceticism. I want to do something great with my life, but damned if I know what it will be. Maybe you feel the same way? Let's talk about it.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated recently with my BA in sociology and will soon be a graduate student at Brown working on my PhD in sociology. I'm especially interested in agriculture/land use.

I'll be traveling for the next three weeks so if I don't respond it's not you, it's me. Looking to be in Providence around the 20th.
I’m really good at
Cooking, writing, dancing, giving massages, coming up with puns...
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes and smile/lips. Eloquence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: 1984; Brave New World; Broke, USA; The Wal-Mart Effect; The Limits of Power: The End of American Exceptionalism; Flowers for Algernon; To Kill a Mockingbird; The Grapes of Wrath; The Sorrows of Young Werther; and; The Picture of Dorian Grey, Canticle for Liebowitz, The Communist Manifesto, Taking the Risk Out of Democracy, Freefall, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Twilight of the Idols, Searching for Respect: Selling Crack in El Barrio, The Ecological Rift (Capitalism's War on the Earth); The Metamorphosis; Expensive People; The Gay Science (honestly everything Nietzsche); Christopher Moore's books;

Movies: I love documentaries (Food, Inc. Supersize Me, Fahrenheit 9/11), foreign films ( Two Days in Paris, The Counterfeiters, M, The Edukators) and all of Quentin Tarantino's films. Judd Apatow films are my guilty pleasure. I adore Billy Wilder. Wall-E, Ratatouille , A Foreign Affair; One, Two, Three!; Chocolat; GRAVITY; Hobbit/LOTR; Requiem for a Dream

Music: [Work in Progress] Grateful Dead (rarely), Kid Cudi, Queen, Beethoven, Bach, Mika, Blue Scholars, Mahler, 80's-90's hip-hop, Neil Young, basically anything but contemporary country western (think garth books & toby keith), rap about bitches/hoes/money, and anything that screams at me.

Shows: Invader Zim, Adventure Time, Firefly, Breaking Bad, Curb Your Enthusiasm, House MD, Louie, Bored to Death, Arrested Development, Futurama, Fullmetal Alchemist, Mad Men

Food: Indian/Asian food. Anything with a kick.
The six things I could never do without
My laptop
Wholesome food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where society is going.
The environment (physical and mental).
On a typical Friday night I am
watching Netflix or asleep. I don't go out much, at least not by myself. I'm always open to adventures, though.
