I'm a farm-boy from central Kansas who left the country to pursue a scholarly life. I'm sensitive and caring, adventurous and passionate, generous and trusting. While naturally introverted (INTP), I'm ebullient once you get to know me. I over-think things way too often (this profile for one).

My philosophy is that this is the one life I have to live, so there's no sense in asceticism. I want to do something great with my life, but damned if I know what it will be. Maybe you feel the same way? Let's talk about it.

I'm a sociology student at KU aiming to be a professor/author in environmental/political/economic sociology. Spent 4 months in Bonn, Germany last fall to learn about international politics and carouse and just have a wonderful time. I'm spending this summer working on a McNair research project regarding farmers' perceptions of the environment and climate change. Grad school is also creeping up on me (Fall '14). I'm fascinated by Nietzsche's philosophy and more and more convinced he was on the right path.

Besides that I'm trying to make the world a better place by spreading knowledge and compassion. I want to make others feel good about themselves so that they might do the same for someone else. I may be a bleeding heart at times, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Judd Apatow films are my guilty pleasure. I adore Billy Wilder. Wall-E, Ratatouille , A Foreign Affair; One, Two, Three!; Chocolat was surprisingly good.

Music: [Work in Progress] Grateful Dead (rarely), The Postal Service, Kid Cudi, Queen, Beethoven, Bach, Mika, Blue Scholars, Mahler, 80's-90's hip-hop, Neil Young, basically anything but contemporary country, rap about bitches/hoes/money, and anything that screams at me.
