My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Yup, I'm a (ex-professional) musician who doesn't know the words for any song and would be hilarious at Karaoke. And yes, I'm a computer programmer who can actually look you in the eye and carry on a conversation. I'm a thrill seeker who loves flying across the water or down the road on the motorcycle as much as I love a lazy pontoon ride with a boat full of friends (or a moon lit ride for two) or a fire in the fireplace on a rainy day.

Yes, I do crave new experiences, adventures, music, dancing, and getting together with friends, but I also enjoy quiet evenings at home, cooking for two (yes, I'll cook for you), watching a movie, or even both of us reading books on the couch. I must say, however, that especially during the summer I'm very much an outdoor person, and that list of things I like to do or am willing to try is much longer than the list of things I don't like to do. So, while you may be able to whip me at golf and pool I'll get my revenge with foosball and ping pong (um, err, or is it the other way around? What, you don't think so? Game On!!!).

I'm looking for a (born as a) woman who will grow from being an activity partner to girlfriend to lifelong partner who won't ever (hopefully lol) forget the "friend" part of "girlfriend".

I read a great line on someone's profile. I watch my figure; if I don't neither will anyone else. lol. I'm in the gym everyday during my lunch hour doing yoga, spin, Pilates, body sculpting, or lifting weights. My BMI is under control. All I ask is that you make an effort. The work we put in now will dictate the quality of our last ten years. So "they" say, whomever "they" is. Lol.

Life is short and your inbox is probably full of messages from guys you're not interested in. I might not notice that you visited my profile. Sooo, even if you think the guy should make the first move, if you see something on my profile that sparks an interest take a chance and say hi. I won't tell ;-)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have two kids who are with me half of the time and I’m enjoying every minute of it (well, unless the hormones are raging and they are rebelling). During the winter months I play violin in a community orchestra. Don't worry, you won't be a weekend widow. I play about four concerts a year on a Sunday afternoon.

I'm enjoying riding my motorcycle, boating, golf, photography, the DSO, concerts at Pine Knob, seeing local bands, nice restaurants, dive restaurants, comedy shows, being silly, laughing, exploring parts of Michigan I've never been to before, good friends, and generally living a great life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Most things I put my energies into. Playing music, raising my kids (I won't be one to look back and wish I spent more time with my kids), solving problems, teaching, learning, listening...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile. That I look like this or that star (I don't think so). My sensitivity to what's going on around me. That I always seem so relaxed (not on the inside, but apparently I give off that vibe).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
David Baldaci, Patterson, Elmore Leonard, etc. books, American history books. That said, I'm terrible with remembering names so don't laugh if I pull out my phone to look up titles. Ok, go ahead and laugh. :-)

I don't watch much TV (can't stand commercials) but do enjoy the Netflix way of watching shows by the season (House, Mad Men, Bones, SOA, Walking Dead).

I like most genres of movies, though horror would be far down the list. Drama, suspense, action, comedy, and yes, good chick flicks.

Music: everything except most opera (that said I'd love to see one in person) and most rap. Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Marcus Miller, Miles Davis, modern country, classic rock songs that have not been played to death, good heavy metal (when the mood is right), smooth jazz, alternative rock, Linkin Park, Alison Krauss, Stevie Ray Vaughn, world music, swing jazz, most new pop/R&B unless it's really repetitive or degrading to women (I have daughters). I could go on.

Food: mostly love it. Mexican, chinese, thai, vegetarian, BBQ, italian, a good salad, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My kids.

Romance, love, spooning and forking. ;-D

Good conversations with my friends.

My phone. It handles my calendars, todo/shopping lists, email, and acts as my personal assistant. It keeps me on track when I get caught up in the moment.

Memories of my experiences in life. This is what it's all about, making memories. :-)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What went wrong, what went right, what did I learn, and how can I do things better.

Am I keeping a good balance between being the nurturing parent and the lay down the law parent?

Oh wait, I'm supposed to put something witty here. What would America be like if the Indians didn't help the pilgrims?

Oops, that's deep. Witty, must be witty. Hmm this goes on my todo list. Next?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There's no typical Friday. Friendship and fun is almost always on the agenda. Being on the boat or the bike has been popular lately. Or it could be any of the bazzillion things I like to do: dancing, euchre party, bonfire, at the movies, exploring good restaurants or dive bars/pubs, a rock, country, jazz, or classical concert, an art show, etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In person? Anything. Here? The Internet never forgets, sorry.

Well alright, I'm probably one of the few guys that have read all three Fifty Shades books... Whether you like book or think its stupid it's made it safe and ok for couples to talk about, and experiment with, an expanded set of techniques for having sex. That's a good thing!!!
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 45–59
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you are interested, send me a wink, or a smile, or simply say hi.

Note: if you are a very quiet homebody or if your world ONLY revolves around the "finer things in life" we probably won't be a good fit.

What’s the worst thing that can happen? We become friends and occasional activity partners. What’s the best thing that can happen? We become life long partners and lovers.
