My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So...the last time I checked, my name is David. I spend some time hanging my hat in the art arena, among others. In all its forms, be it paint, photo, print, music, movie, stage. However it's chosen to be expressed, artists have my thanks for giving what they create to the world, even if it isn't always appreciated or understood.

My family, who keeps (and drives) me (In)sane.

Also, my friends, who actually mean more than they know to me. Even if I can't always be around them (or in the same city). They will always be near and dear to me, distances be damned.

Okay, those were the big things, here's the small things: Music, movies, comedy, horror (especially zombie movies ), the greatness of Calvin and Hobbes. I love to read, yes, for fun. Comics(geek alert). And, though I prefer mostly to just sort of 'people-watch' I like going out to various clubs or bars (as long as it doesn't suck), not really to drink. But I like to people watch and rather feed off the energy of everyone around me...that sounds a little odd, but I can explain it better verbally. Of course, I have no qualms about lounging at home watching a movie or playing a game of some sort.

Playing pool, even if I could use some improvement. I've kind of become addicted to Wikipedia lately too. I enjoy going to various exhibits, when I can find the time of course. Still wanting to do a little of the photography thing as well, though again, when I can find the time. I love to exercise and go for a run, try to go as much as I can throughout the week. Also, to a degree, tattoos, though designing them, being satisfied with the design and getting the money is a process. I love to drive, to learn, to live...though to varying degrees and not always at the same time...well, maybe I do.

I am David, Creative, and tired of adjectives
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Well, I try to live by the general rule that I can never stop learning...even if I am finished with school (for the time being). It's better than the alternative, which would probably amount to letting myself become stagnant. No thanks.

I'm an artist by day (and night for that matter). I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design back in 2005. I now work downtown for a marketing and listing agency for oil & gas companies. Is a good job and I rather like it here, nice view and it's a facet of what I want to do.

And more recently. Taking care of a bunny I inherited from a friend. She's tiny! I don't think she sleeps.

*edit* Sadly, Bunny passed away. She was an awesome pet. All kinds of sassy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Some things better than others, other things, not so much...suppose it varies. Though I wouldn't turn down an opportunity to learn.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a little tall, or so I'm told...

And I say "bollocks" far more than I need to. Though I suppose I suppose that wouldn't be the 'first' thing people notice about me, as it usually requires they be talking to me. But still...

Well...just to preface, music is one of those things that I couldn't and wouldn't want to live without, as everyone says. I like to keep a variety going. It's "the spice of..." as they say. And while I could say I listen to everything...well I just haven't heard everything. Like zydeco music...I've heard some, just not much of it. But I did see Wayne Toups live...was a good show! Anyway...

Street Dogs, Tegan and Sara...there's quite a bit more, but I'll save you the trouble of having to sort through it all. Though I may add more later.

As for movies, I can say that I'm definitely a fan of horror (particularly Zombie movies, as mentioned earlier. Bad horror movies hold a special place in my heart too) more so than any genre (I generally tend to think, the gorier, the better, but it's far from a necessity)...but I hold no prejudice against any particular genre (and yes, that includes so called, 'chick-flicks').

To name a few: Amelie, The Fountain, The Fall, All of Romero's "Dead" movies (including remakes), Martyrs, Blade Runner, What Dreams May Come, Moon, Monsters, God Bless America, Pontypool, Grace, Dead Alive, Lake Mungo, The Signal, Sinister, Slither, Zombi, Dumpster Baby(yes, this is a real movie), City of God, Serenity, Stardust, The Mist, Plague Town, From Within, Critters 1/2/3/4, An American Werewolf in London, Farmhouse, Feed, Deadgirl, Midnight Meat Train, Inside, Black Dynamite, Irreversible, The Zombie Diaries, Eden Lake, You Kill Me, Shopgirl, Laid to Rest, Fido, Undead, The Wicker Man, Eden Log, The Descent, Dog Soldiers, Vampire Hunter D/Bloodlust, V For Vendetta, Leon: The Professional, Wolf Creek, Akira, The Evil Dead series, Garden State, Fight Club, Spanglish, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Grindhouse (Planet Terror more so), Back to the Future, Flight of the Navigator, Contact, Princess Bride, Jacobs Ladder, Fox and the Hound, The Notebook, Evangelion, Frailty, Escaflowne, Moulin Rouge, Superman series, Batman series, Sunshine, X-Men series, Can't Hardly Wait, Bourne Series, Groundhog Day, Short Ciruit, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves/Men in Tights, Gattaca, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...okay, I could go on forever, so I think I should stop.

Books/Authors...I love to read, and will do so when I can. As far as some favorites go: Ender's Game, Neverwhere, Sandman, American Gods, Stardust, Good Omens (okay...pretty much anything by Neil Gaiman), John Dies At the End, I Am Legend (Richard Matheson in general), Dear Theo, World War Z, The Fuck-Up, Fight Club, Lullaby, Choke (and again, pretty much any Chuck Palanhiuk), stories. Flannery O'Connor

As far as TV (though it's not on here): I rarely actually watch what's on, but I watch a bit on DVD, I tend to lean towards genre shows: Doctor Who, Fringe, Arrow, Buffy, The Flash, Breaking Bad, Last Week Tonight, Hannibal, Grimm, Sherlock, Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, Wonderfalls, Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, Fringe, Jeremiah, Modern Family, Angel, Smallville, Heroes, Lost, Carnivale, Jericho, Dead Like Me, Dexter, Veronica Mars, Home Movies, Undeclared, plus more...

When it comes to food, I've become a bit more adventurous. But Italian and Mexican are tops. Have had a craving for sushi as of late
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music, Family and Friends, Baby Penguins, Arts, Creativity, Calvin and Hobbes
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Well...this is a little bit of a loaded question...there's quite a number of things I spend a lot of time thinking about. I can fill entire day trying to think of a single story (or at least formulating an idea). A person, an act, what color was whatever I saw whenever...or just things of little consequence.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually hanging out with friends. I don't mind going out anywhere and watching people. You can tell a lot about them by what they're not saying.

Of course, I certainly don't mind calling it an easy night and just staying at home messing with photoshop, writing, reading, listening to music or watching a movie(s).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think kid leashes are all manner of awesome.

...I did think of something else to put here. It’s pretty far from being of the “deep-dark” variety.

Either way here it is: When I was really little, every time I heard the song “Oh! Susanna”, and it got to the part with:

“I come from Alabama,
With my banjo on my knee”

...I used to think banjo was a dog.

What? I was little. Though in all honesty, it makes it more fun to imagine that it’s still a dog. So I do.

Or if you would like to know anything else, make a quip or comment about anything I've written or just to leave a 'hi'!

I also like the notion of, never be with someone you wouldn't be able to sit next to on a three day bus ride. - Seems like a good rule of thumb.
