A friend of mine recently revealed she met her husband through an online dating site, and neither of them are serial killers, so how bad could it really be...

Seriously though, I've lived in Portland for a little over a year now, and I'm basically hoping to make friends, influence people, and perhaps even fall in love. I hear this happens over the internet sometimes these days... crazy.

Currently I'm pursuing post-Bach credits at PCC building toward a more advanced degree as a Nurse Practitioner, Physicians Assistant, or (cross your fingers) an MD. This has been an interesting experience for me, after receiving my first degree in the social science arts, I am now discovering I am actually quite decent at physical sciences and mathematics. I'm also studying Spanish because I dream of fluency someday in a language other than aMerican.

Additionally, I work as a commercial fisherman in Alaska during a portion of the summer, and try to spend whatever other time I have between studies going climbing (at the gym, and on real rock), drinking up Portland's "rich" and amusing cultural phenomena. This usually involves people watching, and sometimes bourbon, with friends.
