My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Squishy meatbody encasing an infinite ray of celestial light seeks same.

I'm a west coast boy (Born in San Francisco, raised in Oregon, and went to college in Washington) who came to Boston for graduate school. The city has really grown on me. I love the Charles, the squares, the BPL, and Somerville restaurants, but I hate the hot 'n' humid suckstorm summers.

I got my master of fine arts in creative writing last year. I love books and art, and am always hungry for new things to read and see and think about. Beauty is my only narcotic.

I love music, love going to shows and checking out new sounds, from classical to electronic to folk to rock. I just switched from buying music to subscribing to one of the streaming services. I feel a little guilty but now I'm listening to more music than ever before! It's pretty amazing.

I'll admit I'm shocked and horrified at how popular exercising is with OKCupidians. I mean, I try, but some of you seem to genuinely enjoy it. I try, I try.

My mother once called me the weirdest person she's ever met. She's a pediatrician who works with children with major behavioral problems. :/
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at a software startup in the Back Bay. I do a little bit of a lot of things. My job is a source of surreal humor and white-knuckle drama every day.

I'm looking to migrate to something more aligned with my interests, though, something in education, publishing or a beneficial nonprofit. I want to help our society become more just, better-educated, and better-prepared to survive the 21st century (it's going to be rough).

I also write fiction, and I'm in the planning stages of launching a new, tiny indie publishing company. Exciting stuff.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cuddling. Seriously, I will wreck you. You won't want to get out of bed.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Giant eyebrows. I am ready to enact your Colin Farrell related fantasies.

I'll stick with stuff I'm into right this moment, to keep this manageable. You can extrapolate my taste from that. (I have special places in my heart for gloomy, textural novels; beautiful, plotless movies; and 60s soul (and its descendants)).

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Sloth
2. Lust
3. Pride
4. Gluttony
5. Envy
6. Air conditioning
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to connect the floating ideas I have into interesting, dramatic stories.

How to make people care about words in a post-word world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Reading, writing, trying to convince my friends to dance, drinking, grabbing dinner at Highland Kitchen.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am, in another tab, watching Burlesque with Cher and Christina Aguilera.

Also, I don't replace my vibrating toothbrush heads nearly as often as I ought.
