I am intelligent, caring, and quick-witted.

My Self-Summary

I love music first and foremost. I'm a musician - a singer and an avid guitarist. But I also love other things: reading, cooking (tasty!), poetry (writing and reading), watching cheesy movies (anything with Sylvester Stallone is great), learning (why not?). I work in sales, but I also work as a mixing engineer and working on moving towards producing too.

I'll admit, hands down, that I'm a dork.

What I’m doing with my life

I just graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in May with a degree in Recording Industry: Production & Technology. My degree is how to record music. It's one of the most competitive, challenging and quickly evolving fields out there. And I couldn't be happier.

I’m really good at

Keeping my word, making people laugh, completing whatever I set my mind to, problem solving, talking about what I'm really good at, satire, complex humor, quoting TV shows and movies but never remembering actor's names, laughing, talking, wallyball, frisbee, telling stories and popping my shoulder out of its socket. Must've been patting my own back too hard.

The first things people usually notice about me

Cleft chin? Deep baritone voice? Overpowering manliness? Humility? A propensity for making obscure references?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books (via authors): Robert A. Heinlein, Kurt Vonnegut, Brian Eno, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, and so forth. I just finished Kurt Vonnegut's "Player Piano". Both sad and funny - true Vonnegut.

Music: The Velvet Underground, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Brian Eno, ELO, Leonard Cohen, John Cale, Lou Reed, Talking Heads, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Blue Man Group, etc, etc... Aside from the music that I listed here, I generally like most of what I hear. It just doesn't make the cut into 'favorites'. http://www.last.fm/user/JoshuaSites

Food: Yes. All of it. No, really. I take "omnivore" seriously with the exception of nuts and seeds. And I love to cook, so if you're really nice to me, I may cook for you.

The six things I could never do without

- The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
- Time Enough for Love (novel)
- humor
- computer (named Mitchell)
- FOOD
- you?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Being a little bit better, every day.

On a typical Friday night I am

Going out to eat with a couple guys from work, then playing/writing some music.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am a statistical anomaly. That, and I don't like musicals because I can never suspend disbelief enough. As soon as the whole town starts into a song and dance number, inexplicably led by some plucky out of towner they've never met... How do they know the dance steps, the lyrics and harmonies?? And do they all just have perfect pitch? Can they hear the orchestra? Is this some mass hallucination?

You should message me if

You can find the button and then click on it. Oh wait, it's right there isn't it? Well then, I guess I'd better raise my standards... hmmm... Message me if you have something to say, even if it's just 'hi'. Remember: spelling counts!
