My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there!

I'm an active, articulate, kinda quirky guy (in the best of ways) searching for someone of like mind, body, and soul to share in some adventuring!

A brief snapshot of myself and my interests:

I have had a love affair with movies and cinema since we got our first VCR (remember those?) when I was five. I am also passionate about keeping in shape and I lead an active lifestyle (running, hiking, biking, skiing, racquetball, you name it I'm down for it). I absolutely ADORE animals (particularly the undersea variety, as I have been into scuba since my teens).

While I am quite active, I also possess a quieter, more introspective side that likes to kick back every once in awhile and just breathe it all in, like taking a leisurely stroll on a sunny day or relaxing on the dock up North. Word of warning: If you can't walk ten feet without your cell in your face, we probably won't get along.

I have also been known to indulge in a video game or two. If you know who Bentley Bear is (no Google cheating!), congratulations, you are my soulmate. I was born and raised in Montréal and I'm half French (Go Habs Go!). Bonus points if you can speak French too, but it's not a deal-breaker if you can't ;)

The most important thing I'm looking for in a person? A healthy sense of humour is PARAMOUNT. This person needs to be able to laugh at themselves occasionally and not take life too seriously (as cliché as that sounds).

I've tried to lay a pretty good foundation here that I hope will give you at least some inkling as to what I'm all about. Really, though, how well can you get to know someone via a few lines of descriptive text? If you would like to find out more about me, I would be more than happy to oblige. If not, then I wish you the best of luck!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I worked in the insurance industry for awhile then realized it was slowly devouring my soul. I went back to school and got my graduate certificate in corporate communications and public relations, which has led to a rich and rewarding career (I get to write cool stuff for money).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, making friends and making people laugh

Books: I love crime novels, Tom Clancy-esque military/geopolitical fiction, science fiction and fantasy (high and low). The horror genre is also a guilty pleasure (especially during the summer months when my trash reading kicks into overdrive). Currently reading Asimov's Foundation series and will probably move on to Herbert's Dune when I have the time. I'm also plowing through A Song Of Ice And Fire.

Movies: Aliens is one of my all-time favourite movies (I know, shocker) and Jim Cameron (despite his hubris) is one of my favourite directors, as is Kubrick, as is Spielberg, as is Scorsese, as is Coppola and on and on. I love so many movies, you really need to engage me in conversation to find out the specifics, otherwise I'd be typing for hours.

Knee deep in season 1 of Better Call Saul, which is kicking ass. I have watched and re-watched all five seasons of The Wire and I recommend it to everyone I meet; absolutely brilliant. See also: Breaking Bad. Apart from those, I enjoy Murdoch Mysteries (hey I'm a sucker for Victorian settings), Suits, Justified, Sons of Anarchy (another guilty pleasure), The Shield, Cosmos (Neil Degrasse Tyson is the next Carl Sagan) and a bunch of random stuff on TLC and Discovery. Yay nature!

Music: Anything that sounds good. I tend to gravitate towards electronic, metal, classical or old school hip hop (not necessarily in that order).

Food: Sky's the limit, really. Good food is one of the great pleasures of life. I'll try anything once, within reason (e.g. no shark fin soup, live octopus, etc.).
The six things I could never do without
