My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I quit smoking at the end of December 2012.

I just started back to school to get certifications so I can advance in my career.

I'm not on Facebook.

I'm a madman, but a stable one.

I am intelligent, cynical yet optimistic, very gregarious at times, love to make people laugh, an athletic klutz, love to build things, being absurd.

I am not religious, don't believe in god and I never will or will be. I love science and classify myself as an empiricist.

I am very liberal, love debating, and I find it upsetting when people aren't passionate about anything in their lives.

I can't breathe when I run so, I walk everywhere.

I don't own a vehicle. It's a personal choice. I use public transit and walk.

I was raised by a single mom and because of it, I believe in gender equality. If you don't believe you're equal and capable, then we won't get along.

To the single moms: I have to admit up front, that, eventually, I would like to have children of my own and a family. Not that I couldn't or wouldn't like and love your children, I just would like to have at least one child that is part me. That being said, life is what it is, and sometimes it provides you with what you desire in ways you didn't expect. So I'll take life as it comes and decide from there.

My contest is only with myself, to do it right, with power and force, delight and gamble--Matt Dillon as C. Bukowski in Factotum(not a fan of Bukowski but I like this quote)

Inside every cynical person, is a disappointed idealist.--George Carlin
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a few years into my career as a scenic carpenter, stage technician, and set designer at a local collegiate Theater. I am also an actor. I work for Rebel Pictures-check it out on, IMDB, Facebook, or I create and build something out of nothing, on a daily basis. I was recently elected to office of my local bargaining unit.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Doing my best at everything I do, But I excel at building things, driving, talking to people, problem solving, and creative thinking.
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm tall, they never get my ethnicity correct, I'm weird, out going and very intelligent.

The Fountainhead-favorite statement on individualism. Although, I don't agree with Rand's philosophy, I appreciate her comments about individualism. I love my individuality.
Darwin's Radio-favorite fictional story about the very real science, centered on evolutionary leaps, that counters the Gradualism Theory of evolution.

My favorite quote about books--"we need to make books cool again. If you go home with someone and they don't have books, don't f#ck them."--John Waters

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
books, coffee, knowledge, passion, comedy and laughter, intelligence
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The nature of the universe and our connection to it.
Theoretical physics
The state of being human.
How to make people laugh more without being obvious or cliched.
Greed. Why people still horde money and resources when we have an abundance of both and abundant access to both
Being a stand up comedian
Bun Bun(bonus points if you know)

Why people answer that they are more nervous for an important job interview than a promising first date. Interviews come with references, contacts, and paperwork to back up your claims. Dates do not, you're on your own.
Why people on here think the best way to show someone you love and/or care about them is with words. Words are hollow without action.

The current cultural reverence of pets. I like animals and pets of all kinds, but I can't understand why everyone feels the need to plague me with their pets.
Why are cars and bathrooms such big draws for selfies?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Looking for something else to do besides the bar, not my scene. If the bar is your scene, I'd rather sit at home. Six years as a bouncer and I'm done with it. If you want to drink around a fire, or anything else, I'm game.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I got super excited when I found Cantebury Tales wrapping paper at Target. I still have the sheet I bought.
