My self-summary
Now 100% haiku free!

(NOTE: this is a reference to the fact that my profile was at one point completely in haiku, not a celebration of overcoming some seventeen-syllable malady)

I'm a fairly standard example of a human being. Two arms, two legs.

(NOTE: this is not meant to be a slight directed at anyone lacking either an arm or a leg)

I enjoy camping, evening bike rides, movie nights, expensive pens, footnotes, trivia, naming logical fallacies, and one other thing...

(NOTE: puppies!)
What I’m doing with my life
I work in editorial at a stop motion animation studio downtown. I'm also working with a local artist in an effort to publish a graphic novel I've written.

(NOTE: the graphic novel has nothing to do with superheroes)
I’m really good at
Shrugging. Man, I can shrug so hard. You need something dismissed in an offhand, vaguely interested way? Let me know.

(NOTE: or don't. Whatever)
The first things people usually notice about me
I laugh loud and at pretty much anything. Frequently myself.

(NOTE: I am a completely liability at movies)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Vonnegut, Kafka, Murakami, Song of Ice and Fire. Rothfuss.

(NOTE: I also enjoy science. That includes science fiction and science not fiction)

Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Arrested Development.

(NOTE: and Blazer games. Not technically a show but one of the few other things I watch on TV)

Ice Pirates

(NOTE: Robot pimps and space herpes!)

Currently: Jonathan Wilson, Jamie Lidell, Lorde, The Head and the Heart.

(NOTE: I also have a spotify playlist of all my favorites from high school. Nothing like a little Smashing Pumpkins to pull me back).

sushi, pulled pork sammiches, smoothies, thin crust pizza, and any kind of fruit but especially cherries.

(NOTE: and candy. But not so much chocolate as sour gummi stuff)
The six things I could never do without
subtlety, kindness, words, thoughts, space, and time

(NOTE: and candy)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If I was given three wishes, I'd use the first to eliminate Christmas music.

(NOTE: I'd then use the second wish to bring Christmas music back, and the third to eliminate it again because it was so satisfying the first time)
On a typical Friday night I am
Fridays are pretty mellow. Every other Tuesday, however, I'm with a group of friends competing at Geek Trivia at the Kennedy School.

(EXAMPLE: What are the names of the muppets that sit in a balcony and disapprove of everything? How many characters in the original Star Wars say: "I've got a bad feeling about this?" Important questions!)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wish that all echoes worked like they do in funk songs. If you yell something into a large expanse, it should come back to you slathered in reverb, faintly robotic, and with a term of endearment attached at the end.

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–40
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
No pre-requisites or qualifications necessary, but it might help if you:

are sweet, genuine and kind, have curly hair or freckles, are down to play some tennis or go bowling, enjoy patios and porches, and don't take things too seriously, including me or yourself.

(NOTE: It would also be helpful if you're geek-friendly. You certainly don't have to into the same silly crap I like, but if movie references and video games bug may want to look elsewhere.)
