My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm someone who looks out for the underdog, activist, handy, athletic, resourceful, and fairly well-traveled. In the past ten years, I've lived in Kentucky, Vegas, Virginia, Costa Rica, and Florida, chasing my dreams and being open to what the world has to offer. I get my kicks playing basketball, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, and fishing/scalloping on the Gulf.

In the next couple years I'd like to knock out a good portion of the Appalachian trail, and spend a summer exploring Alaska.

I'm pretty good with animals and plants, enjoy horseback riding and growing my own food, & working locally to help people figure out sustainable landscaping practices.

Former jobs include radio DJ, literary translator, a few plant nurseries, landscape construction, worked at KFC one night, union organizer, I was a healer one summer, retail sales, journeyman's apprentice, and I taught at a military college for a year. There's some I'm forgetting.

Oh, and I'm debt-free -- that should be worth something, right?

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite books include critical theory stuff (Eagleton, Jameson, Zizek, Tim Morton), gritty realism like Denis Johnson, and the Faulknerian southern fiction tradition (Daniel Woodrell). I tend to let one book lead me to another. Reading Jill Bialosky's History of a Suicide right now, about her family's struggle after her sister's death. Sometimes I just put my smartphone between my toes and stare at it for hours.

I'm not a picky eater, and I can good music.

I like indie films -- most Hollywood is tripe.
The six things I could never do without
