I like long books and shows in series, because when I'm invested in a story I don't want it to end. Recent reading includes George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, and Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturnin series. Some of my all-time favorites are Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series, Watership Down, Mrs.Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, Snow Crash, Ender's Game, and Watchers. I like a lot (but not all) of Stephen King including Dark Tower Series and The Stand (also a great minseries).

Shows: How I Met Your Mother, Arrested Development, The Big Bang Theory, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order SVU, Star Trek TNG, Game of Thrones, and Glee.

I like lots of movies so the only thing I'd dislike is someone who'll only watch one genre and roll their eyes at everything else.   A small sample of movies I like a lot: Die Hard, The Princess Bride, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Trainspotting, L.A. Confidential, Fight Club, Bridget Jones' Diary, Clerks, American History X, Rounders, Good Will Hunting, Kung Fu Hustle, The Matrix, Dead Poet's Society, Untamed Heart, Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty, The Bourne Identity, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, War Games, Dirty Dancing, The Usual Suspects, Star Wars original-and-unfucked-with trilogy, Indiana Jones trilogy, Lord of the Rings trilogy, High Fidelity, Singles, White Nights, True Lies, Sliding Doors, Gladiator, Terminator 2 Judgment Day, Master and Commander, BBC's Pride and Prejudice miniseries, Minority Report, Working Girl, Pretty Woman, A Fish Called Wanda, Full Metal Jacket, Forrest Gump, Gone With the Wind, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, Watchmen, The Dark Knight trilogy, Wall-E, Up, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, Good Fellas, Memoirs of Geisha...yeah, I could go on.

Music: When I'm driving and I hear a great 90s song come on the radio, I wish someone was in the car with me to appreciate it as much as I do. I like clever or evocative lyrics. I like most of the Rock family, much of the Pop and Country family (although I didn't care much for Country until I was introduced to Country dancing about 8 years ago) , and I dabble in Classical listening. I like a few individual songs that are Rap or R&B, but in general those aren't my thing. I'll get to listing my favorite artists later.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Cross out the title, as nothing admitted on the internet is ever private again. Tricksy Hobbitses.
