My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I’m Gabriel, my user-name is my name in Arabic, read it in a book about angels years ago. It stayed with me and saves time having to come up with a cleaver user name. Besides, it has always been difficult for people to give me a good nickname, so they go with a shortname. I’ve gotten from friends and family: Gaby(Spanish, pronounced Ga-V), THE Gabriel, Rico Suave from when I had long hair(which does not last more than 10 seconds with the look of disappointment and rancor I give them). My favorite though, was Gabs.
I’m an L.A. native working in the movie industry. Mostly, I deal with data, staring at a number of Linux boxes all day. Up until a month ago, I would do that all night working a swing shift. Killed my social life but am ready to get back to the activities I enjoy, such as exercise, Argentine Tango, Aikido, and I’m going to learn how to ride that motorcycle right. I like activities that require skill, focus, and ultimately, fun. All in my quest to be the most interesting man in the world.
One of my next activities will include archery, gonna channel some Mérida and Katniss. Green Arrow, Hawkeye and Robin Hood. Apollo, Artemis and Cu…pid(raises eyebrow).

I crave adventures, so I may take off in my car, explore a new area, deserts, hiking, getting on a plane and visiting a new city for some days. Just get out of town and look at some new scenery. Last year, I was switching jobs and had to take a two-week forced vacation, so I packed up my car and drove myself around the country. Hit Moab for the first time, went through Nevada and came down the California coast. Met some great people, camped where I liked, listened to the wind. There was no one around for miles and miles. It was great, loved it all. Getting away also helped put some things in perspective. I was living, I could breathe. Life has changed over the last few years, perspectives, etc. A friend of mine has called it a renaissance of my life. It’s pretty accurate. Growth has been good. Much more self aware these days and I know what I want and going after it.

I enjoy cooking, Sunday morning breakfast, make my bed every morning, smell good, stay busy doing and learning, have a sarcastic sense of humor, enjoy conversation, Oxford comma, two spaces after the end of a sentence, have great shoulder to hip ratio(points if you get the reddit reference), speak in movie quotes. I will say too that as much as I enjoy social gatherings, I am an introvert and do require Me time, it’s a balance.

Other: smells good, black boxer briefs, balanced, patient, has style, clean, social, keeps good company, makes a good living, a gentlemen(really, I’ve been praised for this), takes initiative, makes plans, pays attention to small details, intelligent, creative, funny, sarcastic, pragmatic, confident, high-fiver(making that a word), lots of other bells and whistles.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Doing what I can "To be of the world and in the world."
Going where the wind takes me. Going with the flow & trying new things.
Meeting people & building new relationships. Appreciating every day & all the little things in between.
Recently, I started pre-requisite courses to start down a new career path in Mechanical Engineering. Lots of new tech that I want to be a part of. Until then, lots of maths.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being human. Receiving massages, OK, giving them too. Driving. Conversation. Petting cats. Lists. Losing sleep, because, c'mon, there aren't enough hours in the day to do everything. But I find a way.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As some friends have pointed out, the full head of thick wavy hair, and people always think I look younger than my age.

Food: Love it. No real dietary restrictions other than moderation and being health conscious, I'm moving into more of a paleo-ish diet these days. Sometimes though, mint ice cream for dinner is hard to pass up. Love scotch, I have my favorites, spend time in whiskey bars, and beer.
