My self-summary
Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?"

To clear up any confusion, I'm not a real doctor. But who doesn't like a good Back to the Future reference?

If I've written to you, I've most likely read your entire profile and you seem swell. Golly!

I'm the kind of guy that likes to tell stories and make people laugh. I am always there for my friends. When eating out, I'm the kind of guy that likes to know the servers name so that I can address them properly.

I am a hard worker, and think it's important to be working hard at this point in my life. That being said, I also believe that working hard can free one up to be more confident in demeanor and more adventurous in spirit. Yeah, that's me. I prefer the qualities of someone who goes "above and beyond" or someone who describes them-self as a "glass half-full" kinda person. I love inspiring others in ways that I wouldn't normally consider myself being an inspiration for. I chose not to move through life passively. So if you're looking for someone who likes to get shit done, well you found me! That being said, I am also a sucker for cozying up when there is time to relax or sleep in or just watch things on netflix. Of course, that means homemade popcorn and making sure the dishes are washed and my shirts are hanging in the closet before start-time. Tmi? Haha.

In the long run, so to speak, I'm looking for something serious and more long term. But that means I'm looking forward to getting to know new people and seeing where it goes from there. Don't get me wrong, I like to be in love as much as any other guy, but practically speaking, I just want us to help each other get our assess out of our apartments to have some fun exploring the city.

Oh, and I LOVE the MOTH!!!
What I’m doing with my life
Celebrating, I'm finally worthless! No for real, I am debt free (screw you student loan companies!) and I'm gearing up for some big changes in the coming year.

I am an IT Engineer and Facilities manager for an online company near Grand Central. I basically work for myself because my boss is based in Seattle, which has given me the freedom to make my own schedule.

My upcoming "big changes" are in every area of my life. I am planning to leave my IT job for some more creative employment. I'm looking forward to moving into a larger apartment or condo in the near future, and possibly getting a car. The car would be essential for storing skiis and going on the occasional road trip.
I’m really good at
Being ridiculous. Getting things done. Traveling. Partnered dancing. (Do you want to know what it's like to be swept off your feet?)
The first things people usually notice about me
My sense of humor. Sometimes my eyes. I am told they are quite blue in the right light.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As you may have noticed from this year's Halloween picture, I've always been a fan of back to the future. And speaking of time travel, I'm currently hacking my way through the new Dr Who (on season 6 now). I guess I'm showing you my nerdy side, but do I get back cool points for also wanting to watch breaking bad or homeland next?

In terms of music, I like classic rock, folk, some modern indy and also classical and jazz/swing. I'm a fan of the Guess Who, Billy Joel, Mozart and Stan Getz to name a few. Lately, been listening to a lot of Vampire Weekend.

"Favorite" and "food" shouldn't be in the same sentence. Because I really strive to eat healthy. But my favorites have notoriously been annie's mac n cheese (formerly kraft) and duncan heinz fudge brownies with real hershey's chocolate. I know. I know. I KNOW. My justification is that I eat sauteed leafy greens for breakfast 3-4 times a week. Cut me some slack, GOSH!

I'm getting into the habit of reading the NYTimes on Sundays. Generally I read things online. I do like classic books, but only because I'm constantly trying to make sense of them. The last book I read was Born to Run, and I might read a book that my roommate gave me as a gift called "Rats." It's about the history of Rats in NYC, and should be interesting reading after this whole hurricane-flood thing. Yuck! Right?

Shows. I like shows. I like good theater and good musicals and good art. Let's talk more about this over lunch.
The six things I could never do without
Tooth brush
Tooth paste
Five Finger Shoes (joking a little)
Beautiful skylines
Inspirational art
Road trips
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where and when and what kind of dog I'll get in the future. My current apartment doesn't allow for one, but as soon as I can get a place that can accommodate one... I'll be seriously thinking about making the dive!
On a typical Friday night I am
No idea if there is a typical at this point. I'm either trying to be social or anti-social. Haha. I might be out swing dancing or seeing a show. I'm probably not having more than one or two drinks, although I do love the bar vibe. Ideally, I've started the evening with a great dinner with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As the varsity leader of my cross country and track team in high school, I was asked to be a cheerleader with all the other varsity jocks from their respective sport, for the senior student-faculty basketball game.

(That was a very careful way of saying I was a cheerleader once).
