I'm shy around new people, but I seem to make my friends laugh a
lot. I'm pretty laid back, too, but I also get crazily motivated to
work on the stuff I care about. I also spent my teenage years never
trying anything new, scary, or hard, and now I'm trying to make up
for lost time. Mainly, though, I'm a huge nerd, and I like to pick
up new knowledge and skills and solve interesting problems.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm relatively close to graduating with my Geology BS at Western,
but I won't be able to take my last required class until next
spring, so I'm going to fill the intervening time with some extra,
useful classes and maybe an internship or two. After that, I'll
hopefully be going to grad school with the ultimate goal of being a
professor, because I want to get paid to geek out and teach.
Otherwise, I'm biking, hiking, cooking delicious food, hanging out
with my friends, and keeping my (and all my housemates') cars

The first things people usually notice about me
I'm way taller than just about everyone; that's the first thing
most people notice. Then the red hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: sci-fi and fantasy of all stripes. The Dresden Files and
Alastair Reynolds' books come especially to mind.
Movies: the Big Lebowski, Lord of the Rings, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,
the Avengers...just to name a few.
Shows: Community, 30 Rock, Firefly, It's Always Sunny, Myth
Busters...those are just some of my favorites.
Music: I like all kinds of stuff, but I've been branching out from
my vaguely-folksy hipstery roots towards Daft Punk, lately, but
that may be because I'm trying to write a sci-fi noir story.

I didn't hate the show Enterprise.
