My self-summary
"I'm out here a thousand miles from my home
Walking a road other men have gone down
I'm seeing a new world of people and things
Hear paupers and peasants and princes and kings."
What I’m doing with my life
I moved here from China a few years ago. I'm a teacher by trade, but I also spend a lot of time playing folk music. I started performing in the subway a year ago, my repertoire includes Americana traditional standards, old cowboy songs. Busking for me is a way of honoring the great folk tradition as preserved by musical giants like Guthrie and Lomax. When my music brings similes to weary commuters, one drop of a quarter feels like a million bucks to me.

I recently translated a Condé Nast Traveler's guidebook. Now the publisher is talking about re-introducing my favorite journalist Theodore White to Chinese readers. It would be a very fun project, we will see how it goes.

In the meantime, I enjoy travelling, meeting people, learning new things.
