Here's my situation. I work alone, which can be isolating. I'm not a bar guy because it's too loud to talk to someone. I'm not the type of person who strikes up conversations with random people in public places so I figured I would try to meet some interesting people here. I'd like to start by making some friends first, then see how things progress from there.

I'm a well-rounded person. I've written books and computer software. I hosted a radio show in college. I can be comfortable doing things like bike riding on the Towpath, hiking in the Metroparks, having intellectual discussions, playing football freeze tag with my nephews, and taking my nieces for walks.

I'm a bit of a comedy geek. Some people I find funny include Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Lewis Black, Jon Stewart, Richard Lewis, David Cross, and Andy Kaufman.

I'm not a mind reader, but I would guess the first thing people notice about me is that I'm bald. Unless it's cold outside and my head's covered, in which case I don't know.

I enjoy reading non-fiction, especially books with alternative views of history. A couple of examples of books I enjoyed are The New Pearl Harbor by David Ray Griffin and Attention Deficit Democracy by Jim Bovard. Anything by Jim Marrs is good too.

I like a variety of films, including American Beauty, American Splendor, Breaking Away, Chinatown, Clerks 1 and 2, Cool Hand Luke, Crash, Crumb, Diner, Fargo, Fight Club, Good Night and Good Luck, Idiocracy, Kingpin, Memento, Minority Report, Munich, Napoleon Dynamite, Old School, Pump Up the Volume, Raging Bull, Requiem for a Dream, Sicko, Star Wars Trilogy, Taxi Driver, Terminator 1 and 2, V for Vendetta, Wag the Dog, What About Bob?, and Who Killed the Electric Car?

I like music most people have never heard of, mostly indie rock, punk, and hardcore from the 80's and 90's. Some bands I enjoy listening to include Bad Brains, Billy Bragg, Cop Shoot Cop, Fishbone, Fugazi, Helmet, Husker Du, Melvins, Monster Magnet, Primus, Prong, Silverfish, Sonic Youth, Wedding Present, Yo La Tengo, and Young Gods. I don't normally judge people on the music they listen to so I won't hold it against you if you're not a fan of the same types of music as me.

If it's not summer, I'm most likely playing basketball. In the summer I don't have typical Friday nights. I could be out with friends and family or I could be home. Spontaneity.

I don't need to provide any more ammunition for the government agents reading our emails and listening in on our phone calls.

It would be arrogant of me to place limits on who can message me. I don't see myself getting flooded with messages so if you want to send me a message, go ahead.
