My self-summary Propose an edit

I normally say I'm a laid back guy, but what the hell does that really mean?
I'm more calm than other people I know (probably having to do with being raised on the west coast.) I grew up in Oregon, and lived in Arizona and So Cal, before moving to Florida a few years back. I miss the west coast, but have started to love Florida too. I think I didn't like it because I didn't have many friends here, and that makes it hard to like any place, but I do love the warmth and the sun.

I've known people who say that they are laid back, but are lazy as hell. I'm a driven person, I love my job as a video game producer/teacher, which is more stressful than I ever thought, but I take it in stride :) I get to make games for goodness sake. I think I'm a great manager because I'm somewhat organized, but I'm empathic to my staff. They like me (or at least I think they do). I'm truly sarcastic and am usually comic relief for a lot of people. I try to keep things light-hearted, even when life is getting everyone down. It's easy to get cught up in negativity and depression, but life is overall pretty fun. I mean, how else did we get the platypus? See! Even God has a sense of humor. I'm sure he laughs at how much we scurry around these sites and try to find someone else that we can connect with for even a few minutes, and when it falls apart, we get depressed and stressed out.
Wow.. that was a bit of a rant. :)
I hang out with video game developers all day and I fit right in. I try not to get obsessed with video games, but I do play them for research (kind of kooky when you can say that playing games is research... plus, who the hell still says kooky?)
I am a bit of a grammer nazi as well, so if you see a spelling mistake, please tell me... sometimes, after staring at the computer screen and typing fast, I miss the little mistakes.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm not dangerous anough for some of the women I've met in my life. I'm not the bad boy... sorry. I've never cheated on anyone, and after seeing it happen to family members of mine, i could never do that. It's too devastating for everyone. So if you want someone who lies, cheats, and is abusive... sorry, I won't be able to help you. Please drive through to the next stop.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Working hard at my job, and taking classes to complete my Bachelor's (almost done) and then my Masters, when I'm notteaching and managing my staff of teachers.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Making people laugh, talking with people, having fun & taking it easy. I actually like wearing suits and ties, but I do like to wear jeans and PJs as well. I'm pretty good at a lot of little things, I'm a jack of all trades; I know a little about a lot of things (I like learning new things).
The newest one I learned was that the average human eats 8 spiders a year in their sleep (pretty gross... I'm going to start sleeping with tape on my mouth)
I also know the lyrics of millions of songs, and routinely entertain/annoy my co-workers by putting weird songs in their head for days (I love doing that).
I am seriously good at Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Seriously. I'll kick your ass at guitar, bass, or vocals.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

My laugh and my weird sense of humor. It used to be my beard, but I got tired of it and cut it off in May. I would say it's cooler now, but we're in Florida, and nothing is cooler here. I guess I also look like a person that anyone can talk to because I routinely have strangers talk to me everywhere. Weird. It's hard to tell what the first thing is, because I'm not any other person. Maybe I should start wearing short shorts, having a nut or something hang out, and I could say that that was it for certain (pretty gorss too.. and weird... man, I'm in a weird mood)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

I love music. I have an ecclectic taste and like everything (except a lot of country...). I like almost all types of music but I am kind of partial to louder, more rocking out bands. Some of my favorite bands are Alice in Chains, Pantera, System of a Down, 311, Audioslave, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Prince, BoyzIIMen, Public Enemy, Gang Starr... like I said, a little of everything.
I read number of books, mostly leadership, management, and sci-fi books.
As for movies, I'll watch almost anything once, but my favorites include, Star Wars (of course), Braveheart, Shawshank Redemption, Tron, Ocean's Eleven, Knocked Up, Big Lebowski... I'll watch almost anything, I love a good movie, and sometime love terrible movies. What makes my list is any movie that I love to watch more than once
I like a lot of different food. Sushi is too good, it should be outlawed :) I love cooking with someone, it makes things a lot more fun. I also make a mean cheesecake (award winning).

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

1. Cell Phone, it helps keep me organized and in touch with people.

3. friends, help to keep life from getting boring
4. coffee, helps to keep me bright in the morning
5. My new car, bought it in May, and I love it. It's an upgrade from my Honda POS.

(7.) I know there isn't a 7th, but I do love my family. I'm not as close as most people only because my closest family member is about 2,000 miles away (Dad in New Mexico). Most of my family is in the Northwest/Midwest area, and I don't see them as much, but it doesn't mean that I don't care for them...it's just I can't drive to see them :) I miss them

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

Typically, everything. Noise is about the only thing that turns off my brain (music, ocean, fan, etc.) There are a few things that can get me to focus, like food, video games, sex...things which require full attention to enjoy and be good at ;)
For example, would national health care truly work, could America work as a socialist country, why is chicken considered the basis for other foods tasting like it; couldn't beef or turkey be the standard, should I take Tom Brady with my 4th pick in my fantasy football draft, what is the best way to motivate without demoralizing a team... and that's just 30 seconds worth...

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Having ritual sacrifices in my room, setting fires, stealing cars... wait, that is what I do on Thursdays. On fridays it's usually hanging out with friends, or relaing after a long weekend, whichever happens, I'm usually flexible. Lately I've been going to the gym on Fridays (among other days) and less going out (hard to go out after working out). I haven't been playing many video games since I broke my WoW addiction, but still enjoy a night of games every now and then.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

Had to do a quiz at work recently, and I would say that it would be that I've seen almost every episode of 90210... don't know why I watched it, or why I even told anyone... must be the influence of Dillon... ooo how I hate Dillon
