My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to Colorado in 2012 for school and a change of pace that involved skiing the Rockies and trying something new--which has been one of the best choices of my life. I'm currently attending CU Denver for my MA in English Literature and the Women and Gender Studies Certificate. Also, I'm looking for PhD programs that are both amazing and in places I like (which is a lot harder than you'd think!).

I love hearing local music, hitting a bar for some trivia or karaoke, watching the Giants trounce the Dodgers, and having fun out with friends (especially if it includes trying out a new brewery, of which there are tons here--dream come true!). On the other hand, I have a great love of lounging at home reading a book or eight, chatting over a pint, playing nerdy games (though I think Cards Against Humanity counts as just plain awesome), and watching entire seasons of TV shows without interruption.

I'm an ambivert, a very calm person, and nothing really rattles me, but I'm also very sarcastic and I love to be challenged. I ski almost every weekend there's snow, and while you'd have to bribe me to go on a hike, I love to leap out of perfectly good airplanes. I'd be curious to try out something new anytime, or go on vacation out of the country (I'd love to see Australia, France, Greece, and Scotland in particular; did a lot of others this past summer).

If it wasn't already obvious, I am definitely a progressive, a feminist, and an advocate for those whose voices are silenced. If you are against any of those things, you my as well move along.

Don't forget to be awesome!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Reading obscure plays, stories, and books for arbitrary reasons. Procrastinating. Driving in traffic. Harmonizing to music in the car. Avoiding paying for cable. Running on a glorified hamster wheel. Taste-testing at various breweries. Reveling in the joy of the light-rail. Walking and chewing gum. Skiing as often as I can. Trying to remember how to play my guitar and piano.

As for work, I'm a professional writing consultant at CU Denver.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- Sounding like I have an idea of what I'm talking about, even when I'm clueless.
- Messing up quotations from movies, but trying anyway
- Bowling backwards and getting strikes
- Herding cats
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How awesomeness flows in my veins! My amazing skill with snowmen!

If I actually had to guess, I'd say it was how fast I talk. California raised means I talk like I'm in a hurry. But honestly, I have no idea. It'd be cool if you told me!

I can list these forever, but I'll just list a few...walls of text. I can't help it, there are so many good things in the world!

Brandon Sanderson, John Green, JK Rowling, Margaret Atwood, Thomas Marlowe, Kim Harrison, Patrick Rothfus and Robert Jordan...though there's a massive list I could keep going on.
I love recommendations.

There is one movie I love more than any other, simply because I get emotional every time I watch it: For Love of the Game.

As for the others...
Pitch Perfect (or ANYTHING with Anna Kenndrick in it; she's stellar.), Fired Up!, Good Will Hunting, The Avengers, Serendipity, Back to the Future, Dark Knight Trilogy, Knocked Up, Midnight in Paris, 10 Things I Hate About You, Groundhog Day, Tron, Zombieland, Hook, How to Train Your Dragon

ANYTHING by Joss Whedon, How I Met Your Mother, Suits, Dexter, Californication, Castle, Leverage, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Lost Girl, Teen Wolf, The Newsroom (which is probably the best of them all)

Mumford & Sons, Frank Sinatra, Gloriana, Karmin, Dragonette, KT Tunstall, Owl City, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Deadmau5, Lindsey Stirling, Cake, Modest Mouse, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, The Band Perry, A Perfect Circle, Colbie Caillat, Luke Bryan, Christian Kane, Incubus, The Script, Daft Punk, Dierks Bentley, Chris Young, Ellie Goulding, Yiruma

Sushi, Italian (except lasagna...I hate lasagna), Chinese, ANYTHING spicy.

-insert geeky section here-
Games: Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Halo 2, Legend of Zelda (basically all of them, but I've got a love for Majora's Mask that most people don't have lol), Tetris (what? it counts!), Mass Effect 2, D&D, Munchkin, Settlers of Catan, Scrabble (, Eclipse, so many others...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, family, music, financial security, honesty, snow
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Kittens. What? They're adorable, how could I not think about them all the time?!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I had a choice, I'd be in Boulder, bar hopping with some friends.

As I usually don't, I'm often at home studying.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a total and utter sap.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're interested. You think I'd be interested. You think there's an attraction. You can spell and know the difference between there, their, and they're, its and it's, and whose and who's. You live within an easily traversed distance. You are not an alien or a robot that is just trying to kill me (that would put a serious damper on things).

Also, if you don't dislike cats. Saying you dislike cats is like someone saying they dislike dogs--no two cats are the same, just as no two dogs are. Don't be speciesist.

If I sent you a message, it means that I read your entire profile, probably looked at your match questions, and have gathered that we might get on well. I know there's a lot of trash that you have to sift through, so if you get this far (even if you don't message me back) then I thank you.

Also: I'm still looking for good restaurants and bars in town; any suggestions?
