I love the outdoors - in nice weather I'm usually to be found biking, longboarding, camping, climbing. I also love all aspects of music: listening, playing, writing -- mostly I sing and play piano, but I dabble (badly) in a few other instruments.
When the weather gets cold (as it's wont to do in Ann Arbor), my inner hipster comes out. I bundle up in a nice sweater and scarf and make this wassail from a recipe I came up with, I go pick apples and pumpkins, read a good book, rake a pile of leaves and jump in it, probably spend more time working on physics than I do in the summer. I could be found baking a pie. I like going to see shows - music, theater, a combination of the two. When fall gives way to full-on winter I hibernate under a pile of books, although I could be dragged away to go sledding or ice skating. (I don't have the coordination for skiing, but snowboarding's alright).
Also, I'm kind of old-fashioned. I prefer pencil and paper, blackboard and chalk, books to TV, I'm a little more formal in my dress sense. I like to discuss books, history, philosophy, poetry, art, music etc. more than minutiae of daily life (I'm actually quite terrible with small talk). I'm a romantic at heart.
I think most people are interesting, I can learn something from everyone. I like to socialize, have a good time, but I'm a bit shy until you get to know me, and this *definitely* applies to dating. A date makes me more nervous than a big interview. Just so ya know. I'm really easy-going and can get along with just about everybody, but I connect best with people who are motivated to experience life and can be comfortable shouting questions at the abyss and not getting any answers in return.
I live for momentary wonder and spontaneous joy.
