My self-summary
Liberal leaning, tree hugging, pacifist, musician, practical yet often times unconventional, substance over style.
What I’m doing with my life
Teaching/performing piano/chess, training for/doing triathlons, getting a theatre website going and part time landlord. Volunteering, traveling and of course spending time with friends/fam.
I’m really good at
Staying calm, figuring shit out, saving the planet, adding one too many things to the daily agenda.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall, goofy and/or smell like a beef cake.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: only enjoyed when away from the house, on vacation ideally, but finally polished off Les Miserables, now trying out Cloud Atlas

Movies: I've got a few new Oscar winners to catch up on. Any you highly recommend? The Graduate, E.T., Tree of Life, Dumb and Dumber, Cloud Atlas.

Shows: don't see much theater, something I should see more of, oddly enough, I'm getting a local amateur theater website off the ground this winter

Music: if it's layered with harmony, good chance I'll like it. Stornoway, Storyhill, The Veils, U2, Coldplay, Billy Joel, Ben Folds, Rufus Wainright, Flobots, Sufjan, Mutemath, Katy Perry, Wandai Wrection. I finally checked out these victims of turtle trampling and that weird cloud cult which so many seem to be crazy about, but I found them both kinda noisy.. what am I missing? Paper Kites was a pleasant recent discovery though. There's many classical composers that turn me too.. Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Copland, Chopin and on and on.

Food: My BFF from high school is nick named Beef, so in his honor I gave it up about 6 years ago (no, he's still alive). Easier than listing all the food I do like, I could say what I avoid. That would be.. greasy, HFCS, over processed food, which pretty much rules out 99% of what Americans produce sadly. Okay.. here's some stuff I do like: Mexican, sushi, pizza, omelets, Indian, Chinese, these things called Horseshoes my home-town bakery makes. Oh yeah.. and Monte Crisco. *drool*.
The six things I could never do without

You should message me if
You're musically inclined and want to collaborate.

You volunteer somewhere, could use more hands and think I'd agree with your need for action.

You walk the fine line between productive and pretentious.

Ooh! Message me if you like to bike!

Maybe there's something you want to do/try but need a partner in crime. I'm a smooooth criminal.

But in the end, you're not suppose to message me first because I'm the one wearing the overalls here.
