A little yuppie, a lot nerdy, smart but absent-minded, I work too hard but am an awful procrastinator, I tend to be self-deprecating but am probably deeply arrogant at some level I never notice, I have a quirky, dry and often inappropriate sense of humour that I try to keep under control, and I love few things more than a conversation with an interesting person.

I have a history of long and serious relationships, but I'm trying to keep things simple for a while and just expand my horizons.

Most of my energy goes into my legal practice, which, thankfully, I quite enjoy. My areas of expertise are in constitutional and human rights law, and I get a surprising variety of clientele.

The rest of the time I try and forget about the law. Yoga, hiking, climbing and diving are all things I enjoy, but I'm equally happy reading (sci-fi/fantasy when I'm feeling lazy, history/economics/current affairs/classics when I'm not), watching tv or sports (Stormers fan!) or playing games on the computer. This year for me is all about trying new things!

Probably my voice. They say I sound either intelligent, or gay, or both.

Top 3 of each at the moment: Catch 22, the Lord of the Rings, To Kill a Mockingbird, Fight Club, City of God, Snatch, Community, Arrested Development, Better Off Ted, Alt-J, Florence and the Machine, the Lumineers... And for food I'll just say all the amazing restaurants in Cape Town. And biltong.

In no particular order... Wine, music, good food, internet access, travelling the world, and my kindle.

Law, South African politics, economics and growth, incentive structures, history, rugby (and any sport in which SA are dominating - Test cricket FTW), e-sports, nerdy memes, how awesome it would be if I was a Jedi, places to get good food and good wine, how not to come across as a creep on online dating sites, whether everyone else on online dating sites are creeps, why I should stop being lazy and go to that yoga class at 6am, and a million, billion other things.

I'm a bit more inclined to spend my Friday nights in - reading, watching something good, or playing games - than out, but I do love going out, be it to hot new restaurants, funky bars, or whatever. The one thing I don't like is going somewhere where the music is too loud to talk.

Hmmmm. How about, I enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey? No thanks to the writing though.
