Hi! I have landed here, thanks to the relentless coaxing of my good American writer friend from Durham, who believes in the Austenian dictum that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. Only in my case, "good fortune" would translate to success not characterized by material gains. I have had a good life so far, but I have not found that special someone yet whom we all secretly wish for in our hearts. I do not know when my wish will be granted, but I hope my search would end here, unless of course the Big Guy upstairs has other plans.

I believe a little about me might help you decide if you should contact me, so here we go. I’m a print journalist with a premier national daily. History and quizzing are my obsessions; cricket comes a close second (cannot help it much, as I am Indian). I believe history is fun, so I take time out to go out on history-hunting missions, either alone or with friends. I have done a wee bit of travelling, too, in Europe, but most of my travels have been in India. Maybe in future, I will get to explore the world a bit more.

I am looking for a woman who is unbiased and level-headed; who could be a truthful friend as well as a ruthless critic (for my good, of course); and who could be a loving, loyal and affectionate life partner.

Making a living by editing the biggest English-language national daily. Of course, that's just my job; what I am really passionate about is military history. And the Indian military is both my muse and my whore.

Historical fiction or non-fiction such as Empire of the Moghul series, The City of Djinns, White Mughals, The Last Mughal, and Solstice at Panipat; classics such as Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre and works by Dickens; books on war; crime fiction, especially those by Robin Cook; romantic fiction, too, appeals sometimes, but not always.
