I'm a surgical pathologist, and my work gives me great intellectual and spiritual satisfaction. There's a lot that turns me on: I love the theater, I'm a baseball fan, and I travel whenever I can, most recently to India, Ireland, Morocco, and Peru. I have a dream of a small mountain retreat, and who knows, maybe I'll have it someday.
Here are some other things I like: Choral singing, snuggling, Rachel Maddow, common sense, subway systems, Turkish food, leaving my iPhone at home, Carly Simon - James Taylor - Carol King, newly reupholstered furniture, intelligent conversation, trustworthiness, mutually satisfying sex, making the right diagnosis, bad puns, early Woody Allen, late Woody Allen, and most of all, good friends.
There are things I don't like, too: Overbooked calendars, late Friday afternoons at work, the way I used to look, cleaning the apartment, scary cab rides, winter, ageism, 5:30 AM workouts, entitlement, watermelon, text addicts, shaving cuts on the top of my head, overwork, reality television, needing reading glasses, cucumber, trying to think of clever things to put in this profile.
And here's what I appreciate in men: self-awareness, self-confidence, loyalty, honesty, a warm regard for other people's thoughts and feelings, intelligence, and a deep willingness to share the ups and downs of life with another man. Note that I haven't said anything about body type, sexual style, income level, or proximity to Manhattan (in the local area). Those are just details.
If any of this appeals to you, please say hello. The holidays are coming. Shall we spend them together?
