I'm writing my self-summary instead of reading about an epic battle
between a rather impressive roost of Rooks and a ruthless tribe of
formidable Hawks that will take place, so long as I stop
procrastinating, in a forest somewhere in England, the likes of
which I must critique by proper-work-day's end tomorrow and email
to a guy named Michael as part of the interview for a job at a
literary agency, because I like to read and it sounds cool, but
also because a career in academia seems ridiculously competitive,
acting is really just bartending if you're lucky, teaching English
as a second language in Barcelona is mind numbingly boring (not
Barcelona), and life-guarding is far from ligit, so I must, as my
brother just reminded me, get off my computer, despite wanting to
re-watch Obama's Osama's dead statement, and return to the matter
at hand: whether Lily and her new found friends, the Rooks, will
fend off the wild Hawks, and prove that the laws of the wild aren't
just wild; there can be friendship and, of course, love.
What I’m doing with my life
Working for a literary agency. Might go back to school. Playing
basketball. Swimming. Surfing when I can. Even jogging, sometimes.
I’m really good at
Understanding people. Listening. Acting. Scrabble. Making fajitas,
be they steak or chicken.
The first things people usually notice about me
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Anything David Foster Wallace. Murakami. Saunders.
The Sun Also Rises. Love in the Time of Cholera. The Corrections.
The Road. Clockwork Orange. Ulysses. The Lives of a Cell. To the
Lighthouse. Most things Raymond Chandler. Slaughter House 5.
Wes Anderson (Royal T, Fan Mr. F, Life Aquatic)
the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy.
There Will Be Blood. Daniel Day's performance as Bill the Butcher
in Gangs of NY, but not Gangs of NY.
Most things Bill Murray, especially his performance as Dr. Peter
Venkman in Ghost Busters.
No Country For Old Men. And Lost in Translation. And The Hurt
Locker. The Departed. And Batman Begins. Especially Heath's joker.
I never thought anyone could follow Jack, But he did. He did it.
Amazing. And Fist Full of Dollars. Clint "Mother Fucking" Eastwood
(not so psyched on his politics)
T.V shows: Madmen, 30 Rock. Always Sunny. First 3 seasons of
Californication. And yes, 24. I used to watch 24.
Game of Thrones.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm going to do next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out and about.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wrote some songs for the guitar in high school that were so bad,
I can't even think about it.
You should message me if
you are like, kinda like, interested and want to go for a walk,
grab a drink, see some art, dance, explore the city.
