My self-summary
I like to refer to myself as a part-time poet, explorer and radio nerd. But if that isn't enough, I give you an introduction of me using small details (like the beginning of Amélie):

I love the words quintessence and kismet. I dislike empty walls. If I had a catch phrase, it would probably be Pun Always Intended. I like to come up with weird nicknames for pets. My roommate's cat named Martin was Tini (Martini) to me and I even had a Martin & Martinis party in his honor. I hope to own a cat again soon and name it Tolstoy, cause cats know nothing better than war and peace. C.J. Cregg is my spirit animal and Jad Abumrad of Radiolab is my hero.

I think that sums it up.
What I’m doing with my life
Moved back to the Bay recently after getting my Masters in Arts Administration at the University of Oregon. I miss Oregon beer, ice cream and movie pubs, but I'm open to suggestions in the Bay! Working at a great community services org in Berkeley and a winery on some weekends. I'd be happy to share my tips on how to bullshit your way through a wine tasting. Hint: weave full-bodied into the conversation. Note: this applies only to wine.
I’m really good at
Laughing. I love to laugh. So, I surround myself with hilarious people.

Urban exploring!! And by that I guess I mean exploring the culture of an urban environment. I've a little obsession with trying to do everything around me. If you have any suggestions of places I need to check out in the Bay, please let me know!!

Writing? Well, I'm working on being really good at it.

I have a writing blog where I post some works and I also have a MetaphorADay twitter where I post a short poem everyday. And now I'm actually getting paid to write sometimes.
The first things people usually notice about me
My enthusiasm. "Let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure." - Dumbledore

Maybe's it's just my curly hair. What do you think?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a very long list of favorites but I'm going to try to keep it to the rule of three, for mystery! And science.

Books: Everything is Illuminated. Jonathan Strange. The Elegance of the Hedgehog. Oh and Harry Potter of course. I was actually on a muggle quidditch team in college. Goooo O.W.L.S. (Original Wizarding League of Spartans)!!!

Movies: Well my younger self wants me to say Lord of the Rings, but actually my 3 favorite movies are probably: Pan's Labyrinth, Babel and Obvious Child, though there are many other contenders. Boyhood won best picture in my heart.

TV: Firefly all the way! Parks & Rec wins my heart every time. And I'm a real Gilly (Gilmore Girls fan). If you think "Oh that's a girl show", that's precisely why I love it. A show full of women talking about more than men?! Imagine that. Also why I love Orange is the New Black.

Music: This is hardest for me to pick just 3 because I think the more you love music, the more music you love. So instead I will offer some highlights:
Favorite Album: Thao & Mirah
Favorite Concert: Well I can't say Thao again (though it was everything I hoped it would be), so Gogol Bordello or Pink Martini. Kind of on opposite spectrums.
Current Obsession: Leon Bridges
Song(s) I May Never Get Tired Of: Contact High by Architecture in Helsinki, Baby I'm Yours by Breakbot or Amanaemonesia by Chairlift. Seriously, if you need a boost to your day, just listen to any of those.
Musician I Wish I Could See: Louis Armstrong
Guilty (not so guilty) Pleasure: Justin Timberlake
Bedroom Dance Party Music: Black Kids
Favorite Singer: Camille (basically the Bjork of France)
Band I Wish I Could Be In: Lake Street Dive
Sunday Afternoon Music: Kings of Convenience
I have a playlist called LOL Jams that brings me great joy.
Okay I think that's enough.

Podcasts: This is even harder because radio is my thang but if I had to pick it would be 99% Invisible, How to Do Everything, and Wiretap. Though I've been falling in love with The Memory Palace. If you want to hear incredibly beautiful short stories about history, you need to listen to this show. If you want to talk radio, I will gladly do so. And if you hang out with me, I will probably mention the podcast Gilmore Guys. They bring me such joy.

Food: I will admit it, I'm a foodie. I love anything unique, homemade or gourmet so here are some of my favorite dishes at my fav restaurants. Notice they're all in OR. I need some CA contenders!
The Screen Door in Portland: I love fancy southern food and I'm always a sucker for some baked mac n' cheese. You have not had quality mac till you've eaten here, I promise you.
Pasta Piatti in Ashland: Everytime I drive to OR, I stop at this lovely place to get my favorite pasta: gorgonzola tortellini. I'm not actually a big fan of blue cheeses but this dish gets me everytime.
Jam in Portland: This place is a vegetarian's heaven (which I am btw but not extremely strict about it), but my fav thing is their oatmeal chai pancakes. Really you can stick chai in anything and I'll love it.
And I have to give a shout out to my number one tourist destination, the place I take anyone who comes to Portland: Salt & Straw. This place loves inventing new ice cream flavors so much that they release 6 new flavors a month. My fav of their classics is probably Strawberry Honey Balsalmic with Black Pepper.

Theater: I also really love theatre. One of my favorite things to do is go see a play. I don't know if I can pick my top 3 but I do go the Oregon Shakespeare Festival every year and not just for Shakespeare!
The six things I could never do without
1) my friends
2) culture
3) adventure!
4) the environment
5) laughter
6) delicious food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How much easier my life would be if I could teleport. Then how chaotic the world would be if we could actually teleport. I have this idea that there should be teleportation depots at similar named streets like go from one 1st St to the next 1st St. Somewhat controlled chaos. At least strangers or worse relatives wouldn't be popping up in your house all the time.

There are so many things to do in life. So, I spend a lot of time thinking about how to best use my time (thus wasting time). Again, teleportation would help.
On a typical Friday night I am
Well that all depends on what is happening Friday night. Know of something radtaculur?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a big celebrity crush on Darren Criss. Any Very Potter Musical fans out there? Also, if you consider yourself to be anything like Keith Habersberger of Buzzfeed/Try Guys, then I will probably like you. Exhibit A: https://www.facebook.com/buzzfeedkeith/videos/878703435509676/

Last but not least, I can rap all of Gold Digger by heart. I'm actually quite proud that I can pull this off.
You should message me if
You think we share some similar interests and you're ready for Adventure Time! I'm looking for someone who has a lust for life. Someone who wants to take advantage of living in the Bay and explore this crazy metropolis with me!

Looking for something to say?
Tell me about your perfect weekend. If your Lazy Sunday involves making breakfast and listening to Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, then you are made of solid gold stars. Or if you like to go to concerts and dance your ass off (even if they're outdoors), then I salute your steppin' it up, steppin' it up to the streets.

Or if you have a great punny name for a roller derby or quidditch team, then you must tell me immediately!

A disclaimer: I've decided that I'm done with casual dating. Too much effort for too little pay off. So I am looking for a relationship. If this is not what you currently want in your life, you probably shouldn't message me. Thank you internet. Thinternet.
