My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Update: I am in a relationship. I have this profile for multiple reasons... but the biggest one is just to watch over some friends to make sure they don't do anything stupid.
I would still be completely up for meeting people, though!
So, my profile as I had it previously:

Plenty of Fish was probably the most hilarious website I've ever visited... but it kind of freaked me out so I came here.

Also, I just looked at the "quickmatch" thing on here...and feel incredibly awkward judging people based on a few pictures and their profiles. Giving an actual rating of someone kind of gives me the "I'm afraid of how people rate me" feeling.

I guess I'm supposed to try to "sell myself" here, right?

Let me tell you about my Retro video game collection. Girls totally dig that kind of thing, don't they?!

... OK, maybe not.

So, my name is Jeff. I do, on occasion, go by the name "Doctor JT". It's a nickname I picked up in college, and I enjoyed it enough to hold onto it.

I'm a musician, primarily a guitar player but I also play Violin, Viola, Mandolin, Lap Steel Guitar, Lap Dulcimer, Bowed Psaltery, Irish Bouzouki, and a handful of other folk instruments (mostly string instruments) to various levels of proficiency.
As far as guitar playing goes, I used to mostly play Classic Rock, 80's Rock, and Blues. These days I tend to play more Folk, "Great American Songbook" songs, and Jazz.

I'm certainly pretty nerdy and I'm certainly pretty OK with it. I'm always reading something, typically Fantasy or Science Fiction unless I'm in the mood for a text book (which I do own a few of for "joy reading").

I collect Retro and vintage...things. I have some old cameras, plenty of vinyl records... and those video game consoles that are total chick magnets.

I know. I'm so cool, right?

I have a Payphone from 1956, does that make it any better?
No? Oh well.

I am a DGLD.... for whatever that's worth. Quite frankly I'm not even sure what that means.

More of the specifics are below!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Update: At the time of this writing I have a grand total of 4 days left in my Internship in studying Music Therapy (in short, music and Psychology, for those who are unfamiliar with the field.)

Then I'll be in that awkward Post-College phase where I won't entirely know what I'll be doing.
Getting a better job is #1 on my priority list. I have a job...but its absolutely less than stellar.

I'll definitely get myself back into teaching Private guitar lessons (which I had done for a couple years, but had to stop due to lack of time thanks to School) and possibly playing out more regularly (music, that is. You know. Paid gigs)

I will also be finishing a certification in American Sign Language... which I also had to post-pone due to other schooling requirements. (Wow. School just ruins everything, doesn't it?!)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Being unorganized

Wasting time on Imgur

Never Forgetting to be Awesome (DFTBA)

Not completing jigsaw puzzles.

Not proofreading anything I type.

Shaking hands. Seriously, I can't stand when people give terrible hand shakes.

Answering way too many of the "better match" questions on here. Seriously. It's become a favorite pastime. (I'm bordering 2,000 questions answered, now. I REALLY need a better hobby.)

Tiny Tim impressions. Seriously, I've got a wicked falsetto and I know it.

Watching Elf. I excel at watching Elf.

Browsing Craigslist. (Oh, and buying/selling stuff on there, I suppose)

Hugging. If you're going to hug someone there better be some passion behind it!

Being an mediocre poet.

I suppose I am a pretty decent musician, though.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I suppose the fact that I stole my fashion sense out of the 1920's. On one of my more "on" days, bowties and suspenders are kind of hard to miss. (On my off days, I'll most likely still be wearing slacks and a button down shirt but I AM capable of being casual, I promise!)

I jokingly get called "The Doctor" frequently, despite not being a Doctor Who fan. The fact that I adopted the name "Dr. JT" while In college doesn't really help my case, though.

Then I suppose people tend to notice that I'm moderately tall.

Then again, I wouldn't know what people notice. I'm not other people (at least the last time I checked).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite authors include Howard Pyle, Robert Jordan, John Green, and James Frey.

I love Shakespeare, but not because I love the stories themselves; I love the language. In my spare time I study the history of the English language, and English accents.

I'm not much of a movie and TV person, I'll admit. The few TV shows that I enjoy, I hardly even watch. (I loved American Horror Story... I still haven't gotten around to finishing the 2nd season, though. I think I have 5 episodes to watch, still, and it ended in December...)

However I'm certainly not opposed to watching a movie or TV if someone recommends me something, or even better if someone actually says "Hey, let's go see a movie". I'll always be up for it.

Someday I hope to be able to say "I listen to everything", no matter how impossible that may be. I certainly try, but I'm pretty picky sometimes.
Some of my favorite artists include:

Guns N Roses, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, The Civil Wars, She & Him, Liam Clancy, Tallest Man On Earth, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Chris Cornell, Elton John, Brad Paisley, fun., Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Bobby McFerrin, Johnny Smith, Epica, Stan Getz, and I'm currently obsessed with Noah Guthrie's cover of Sexy And I Know It.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Tea
2. Guitars
3. My phone (even though I actually hate it. If I could afford a new one I would be all over it.)
4. The internet
6. Good friends.

I could do without the number 5, though.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The origins and correct pronunciation of words.
Where I could get a cat like Tard, the "Grumpy Cat".
Ways to improve myself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually trying to be social. Whether it's out to dinner and a movie, grabbing a coffee with some friends, or just hanging out chatting and playing videos games. When I have a night off I always want to make it worth while.
I'm not much of a party kind of guy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If I listed things then they wouldn't really be "private", would they? So about how "Things I get mocked for/awkward facts" instead?

My first kiss was to a guy I had just met at a concert when I was 16.
Yes, I am absolutely straight. I swear I can explain!

I wrote a list of Movies that were better than the books.

I used to want to be a Radio DJ.

I once (...or twice... or three times) went to the Renaissance Festival dressed as a witch and counted how many people made Monty Python references to me.
