I am smart, relaxed, and confused.

My Self-Summary

Well, I'm an engineer, but that hardly describes who I am...

I think, a lot, probably too much, I tend to overthink things on a regular basis. However, I enjoy thinking quite a bit, and would rather do it too much rather than not enough.

In my spare time I hang out with my friends, watch movies, listen to music, play video games, read, cook and ride my many bicycles. I love biking far too much, especially mountain biking, but riding on the road provides a good amount of excitement as well.

I'm easy-going, up for most anything, and love new experiences. Having fun and enjoying life are big priorities.

What I’m doing with my life

Well, right now I have a full-time job in Pittsburgh. This is a temporary situation as I plan on attending graduate school next fall.

I'd like to end up being able to help the environment, whether through sustainability research, renewable energy, or even urban planning. I haven't nailed down the specifics yet, as I have 5 years or so to make up my mind before I get out of grad school.

Eventually, I'd like to become a professor myself. I've enjoyed doing undergraduate research and being a tutor, so I think I'd fit well into the whole professor idea.

Beyond what I'd like to do as a career, I definitely want to do a good deal of traveling. Ideally I'd love to do bike tours all over the world, with dreams of crossing the US and even riding the silk road.

I’m really good at

Well, Math, being an engineer and all it's really been beaten into me.

I'm also pretty good at making people laugh.

Also, coming up with ideas. I come up with plenty, I'm just now learning that I need to follow through much more often.

The first things people usually notice about me

My smile (Oh yeah, I know, I know, cheesy answer) and my hair, it's longer for a guy, and well, it's messy.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: On the Road, Slaughterhouse V, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Unstuck are all good ones that come to mind right now.

Movies: Monty Python, 40-year old Virgin, Speed Racer, Pi, Equilibrium, Breakfast on Pluto, the Secretary, Howl's Moving Castle, and a whole lot more.

Music: I'll listen to pretty much everything, though I stay away from most country and rap. Just some examples, Linkin Park, Disturbed, the Clarks, the Refreshments, Jonathan Coulton, Boston, AC/DC, Cake, Miles Davis, Coltrane, Louis Armstrong and so on and so forth.

Food: I really love all food, and I love making food. If I had to pick on favorite it'd probably be steak salads, they just work for me.

The six things I could never do without

1. Bike
2. My best friends
3. Books
4. Music
5. Goals
6. Learning

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Well, a whole lot of things.

A lot of thinking goes to what I want to do with my life, and how I plan on achieving those goals.

I also spend a lot of time thinking about how I can become a better person all around.

There's also thinking about life, and love, science and philosophy, and randomness.

On a typical Friday night I am

Well, I'm usually either in Pittsburgh or Erie hanging out with my friends, hopefully having good conversations and staying out way too late drinking coffee.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have shared a bed with my mountain bike, and I liked it.

Though it's tough to get me upset, ignorant people really bother me.

You should message me if

Well if you've come this far, you should really message me if you enjoy talking to new people as much as I do.

But you should message me even more so if you like riding bikes and you still feel pang of guilt if you step on the cracks in the sidewalk.
