My self-summary
If you're just interested in a quick fuck, do us both a favor and move on to someone else.

I’m a fairly down-to-earth 30-something gay guy looking to find something meaningful in another person, be that a friend or something more. I seem to come across as somewhat charming in a geeky, inarticulate, stumbles over the right thing to say kinda’ way. OK, let’s face it, I’m a terrible conversationalist. I lovingly refer to myself as a "social moron" because I'm the guy who never knows what to say when he meets people, so I'll actually blurt out something like, "I don't know what to say right now," just to fill an awkward silence. Strangely, though, that seems to break the ice rather well. I'm also the guy at work who tries to make everyone laugh, or at least smile through their day. I live on tangents, because they make a conversation exciting. And can I just say that I find it rather amusing that I'm a 5% enemy match for myself? I guess I'd better watch my back. Oh, wait...

I’m a bit reserved when you first meet me, but that’s just a ruse to cover the loud jokester that hides underneath. Too old to be a kid, too young to grow up, I’m the guy with the knowledge and maturity of an adult who still manages to view much of the world with naïve wonderment. Don’t get me wrong, I have a quick wit, sharp tongue, and sarcasm is my first language, but I still love splashing through puddles when it rains and climbing walls and buildings I know I shouldn’t.

I like to be mentally stimulated. A good debate or little known facts are the way to my heart, but then, so is a good story. I like horror movies, true crime, video games, puzzles, reading, drawing, writing, you know, creative stuff. I have a BA in Psychology, an Associates in Graphic Design, and a design portfolio from the Creative Circus. Oh, and I babble incessantly, though you’ve probably gleamed that at this point.

I am tangental, caring to a fault, and oddly endearing.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to figure out the next step. I recently graduated from portfolio school and now im trying to start my career in Graphic Design. If all goes as planned, I'll have a real job in the advertising world within the next few months.

I'm also trying to whip myself back into shape. It's been a while since I had a normal gym routine, and I'd like to be healthier and shave off a few pounds. I'll likely never be a Men's Health cover guy or anything (I'm never going to have visible abdominal muscles. It's a genetic fact.), but I'm trying to stay active and healthy.
I’m really good at
I'm actually a pretty good artist. I can draw recognizable faces and people with a pencil (I've yet to master paint-by-number, but I'll get there), just discovered I can paint, and I can create wonderful things with Photoshop and Illustrator. I'm also a fantastic layout designer based in InDesign. That's not ego talking, just statement of fact. I'm also a good listener. I like to tell myself I'm a problem solver, though I'm not sure how accurate that really is. But I do like helping people when they have problems and I try to fix things when I can. I'm weird that way.
The first things people usually notice about me
I can talk to almost anyone. I'm kinda' quiet and reserved at first, but once I'm comfortable I get kinda' loud and random. Unless, of course, I'm at work or school. For some unknown reason, I'm always loud and outgoing there. Sort of the person I've always wanted to be in my personal life manifested in a controlled environment. People who really watch me will probably notice that I tend to be cynical and sarcastic, but I have a big heart, and I'll actually go to extremes for people. On the same token, I try to make people feel comfortable around me.

Oh, physically? I dunno', I guess my face isn't all that bad. I'm not gorgeous, but my face is probably my best feature. My friends have also complimented me on my eyes before, so I'll go with that, too. I have kind eyes. Kind, blue eyes. And more often than not, stubble, because I'm lazy and don't shave regularly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books, favorite books... I used to work in a bookstore, so this list could get long rather quickly. I absolutely LOVE the book Stiff, by Mary Roach. It's all about what happens to your body after you donate it to science. Fascinating, and simultaneously respectful and hilarious. Highly recommended, as are her two follow ups, Spook and Bonk. Anything by Dan Savage. I've got all 4 of his books right now, The Kid, The Commitment, Skipping Toward Gomorrah, and Savage Love. He's one of those people who writes exactly how I think, so it's very accessible. And he's damn funny, which is a definite plus. Wicked, by Gregory Maguire was really good. I love those classic tales from the devil's perspective kinda' things. Not gonna' lie, I really like the Harry Potter books. A born addict, through and through. I'm also kinda' infatuated with the Sword of Truth series, by Terry Goodkind. Oh, and I also read a lot of comics. I'm working through the Tomb Raider Compendium before I hit the Darkness Compendium and the Witchblade Compendium. There are more, but I think I'll leave it at that for now.

Oh, God, movies? We'll be here for hours! I'll just list a few that come to mind. Urbania, Trick 'r Treat, But I'm a Cheerleader, The Ring, The Exorcist, Mean Girls, When Harry Met Sally, Hellraiser, Trick, The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green, East Side Story, Halloween, DragonHeart, Ever After, 10 Things I Hate About You, Twelfth Night, Clueless, Dogma, Labyrinth, the Dark Crystal, Mirror Mask, Pan's Labyrinth, Stranger Than Fiction, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, Underworld, Underworld Evolution, the Covenant, Forrest Gump, Moulin Rouge, Scream, Can't Hardly Wait...

Music: I listen to all sorts, but I guess I'm mostly in the "alternative rock" group. I love Sister Hazel, although their newest CD wasn't as great as Chasing Daylight or Fortress. I'm a big fan of Maroon 5 as well. Vertical Horizon's another one, and Matchbox 20. And I love every song on Death Cab for Cutie's Plans CD. I must admit, I do like a little Howie Day and Kelly Clarkson, as well. Every Avenue, Forever the Sickest Kid, Simple Plan, The Cab, Pink, stuff that's catchy, fast, and loud, especially when I'm driving home late at night and in need of something to keep me conscious. Or when I'm speeding, which is often, because I'm nearly always either a couple minutes late or right on time. Like I said, my tastes vary.
The six things I could never do without
1) Friends
2) Horror movies
3) Pets
4) Laughter
5) the Internet
6) You, potentially. Message me to find out. ;-)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My life, what's going on in it, what I like, what I don't like, what'll happen next. Then I usually go off on a few tangents. I over-analyze everything. It's an annoying character flaw.

Otherwise, I like to draw and write, so I'm often thinking about a story. Well, when I'm not worried about the future.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends. I'm currently attending a rather competitive school with insane amounts of homework. Like 100 hours of homework a week, and that's a conservative estimate. I don't get much sleep. Otherwise, I like to curl up on the couch with a good movie or book. Or lose a few more hours of my life to the vacuum that is the internet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My biggest fear is dying alone, unloved, unknown, and forgotten.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 30–40
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends
You should message me if
You want something other than a hookup, like, I don't know, to have a conversation; can write in full sentences and not internet short hand; have something to say other than "hey, what's up?"; have something interesting to say, period; like what you've read or seen recently; or just have a random story to tell. You're the expert, tell me something about yourself that makes me want to know more. Wow, I totally sound like an infomercial.
