My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm Derek. I am on a lifelong mission to live a life like no one before me. I have always been out of my element without a roadmap, but I only get one life- why have it be the same as someone else?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Day to day? Teaching English, running, and being tall. In that order.

More broadly speaking? "Same thing we do every day, Pinky..."
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
laughing at anything.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm tall, I have curly hair, blue eyes, and what has been described as a 'babyface.' I keep it in a jar on my desk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Too many books movies shows and music to have favorites. If I name them, I feel a need to stick to them, and stick to a past personality that loved them. I feel bad to sidestep the question like this, but I prefer to hope to enjoy new things in the future and enjoy the things I have in the present rather than remember the things I enjoyed in the past. It helps to not feel disappointed and stuck when I feel myself growing and replacing my favorites.

My favorite un-American food, however, is Indian. 50% of the time, I don't know what I'm eating. 100% of the time, it's awesome.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Curiosity.
2. Milk.
3. An interesting place to sleep.
4. Good stories. My own, or others'.
5. New.
6. A book in case I get bored.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Matching wits with the souls and spirits that I have come across in my life, in an effort to prove not my superiority, but that I can follow the rules better than ANYONE.

That, or relaxing with friends. You know. Fun things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have survived being caught between Taylor Swift and 50 screaming Japanese girls on a Tokyo street corner. Literally.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
There is anything about me that makes you curious or pensive. Please, ask any questions you'd like me to answer. Nothing biographical, though, please. We'll have plenty of time to share stories later. For now I'm more curious about how you would spend your time if you were locked in a room full of puppies for 4 hours.
