I'm Derek.
I've spent the past 4 years living in Asia.
I taught English to cute little Asian kids.
I acted, wrote, and trained teachers from all over.
I traveled to over 10 different countries.
India was beautiful, and I loved the food.
Cambodia was way more amazing than I'd dreamed.
I will never be bored of Thailand.
I'm home now, but will probably be moving on around June-ish.
My friends all have babies now, so who can I call on for good old slightly irresponsible fun?

In Jacksonville until the summer. Then back to Taiwan where I am working as an English teacher, studying Chinese, teaching English, and music.

I'm tall, I have curly hair, blue eyes, and what has been described as a 'babyface.' I keep it in a jar on my desk.

Too many books movies shows and music to have favorites. If I name them, I feel a need to stick to them, and stick to a past personality that loved them. I feel bad to sidestep the question like this, but I prefer to hope to enjoy new things in the future and enjoy the things I have in the present rather than remember the things I enjoyed in the past. It helps to not feel disappointed and stuck when I feel myself growing and replacing my favorites.

My favorite un-American food, however, is Indian. 50% of the time, I don't know what I'm eating. 100% of the time, it's awesome.
