I will be in Taiwan during June and July. Don't really know anyone there, so I am looking for someone to hang out with, travel on weekends, and just have a good time.

I'm originally from Germany, but have lived in five countries on three continents over the last 10 years. I am now a student at Stanford.

In terms of personality, I'm a bit of a vagabond and find it hard to stay in one place for a long time. I spend very little time in my apartment. I don't own a TV. I enjoy exploring new places and getting lost (best way to learn about a place). I like being on the move - I walk or bike extended distances and am willing to try any sport. I rather sit in a coffee shop to read a book than read at home.

Books: Norwegian Wood (Murakami), 1984, Catch 22, The Alchemist, The Stranger (L'Etranger), The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince), Rip van Winkle.

Movies: The Usual Suspects, Bonnie & Clyde, The man who wasn't there, Brother, French comedies, a few random German movies.

Music: The Beatles, Bobby Kim, Tablo, lots of random radio-friendly songs, classical stuff.

Food: Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Dim Sum, Indian, Italian. I'm an omnivore and open for anything really. Please introduce me to Taiwanese food :)

2. Exercise. At least partially because it allows me to consume copious amounts of food.
3. My passport. I need to be able to escape to other places from time to time.
4. Books. I enjoy the feeling of a good old paper book and haven't adopted e-books yet.
5. Time. I dislike packed schedules. So many things in life happen spontaneously and I like to have the flexibility to grab opportunities.
6. Understatement. I use qualifiers in most of my sentences and view "Not bad" as a compliment.
