“Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how mulch you like something. It’s basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating.” ~ Simon Pegg
Hmmmm.... Let’s see how I can set myself apart from the rest of the female folks on here.
I am a very shy nerd, once you get me going, I break out of my “shy shell”.
When I'm not working, or doing courses, you can find me beading (making bracelets and earrings), listening to music, reading, taking long walks, or hanging out with friends. I have a very eclectic taste in music; it ranges from heavy punk to classical (yes, I like country music too and have a weakness/soft spot for One Direction. Don’t like it? Deal with it :P). I love hockey (been off and on with it throughout my life), two of my favorite teams are the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs. I also like to watch a bit of baseball … Can you guess what teams? If you have guessed the Red Sox and Jays, you just won yourself a cookie :D. I have been told many times that it’s impossible to like both Boston teams and both Toronto teams at the same time. Clearly I've proved those people wrong.
I can lip read (not 100%, but pretty darn close). I used to take sign language (and am thinking about taking it up again)
Traveling is something that I would love to do. Two places on the top of my list are Boston and Great Britain. I have been to Massachusetts when I was a kid, but seeing it again would be awesome. Some places I have visited to are: Quebec, New Brunswick, P.E.I, Nova Scotia, Maine, Vermont, New York (State), I’m dying to go to Newfoundland. I don’t know if it’s noticeable … I love going down east (yes… you read right. And NEVER correct and east coaster when they say “Down east”)
I do love to watch TV and movies. I love to watch anything from horror – to romance and everything in between. If it’s comedy, I’m normally watching British comedy. I have a fascination for period films/TV shows … usually set in the 1800s. If you want a list of shows I like, just ask.
As for reading; I like to read, but sometimes can’t sit long enough to get through a book. So instead, I listen to audio-books. I love doing this while I bead, it allows me to get lost. My genres for books are about the same as the movies and TV shows.
Who am I looking for? Well, I’m not really picky. But I tend to like people who are of the same mind as me. I’m quite Liberal and very open minded. I seem to have a thing for tall people (though it doesn't matter how tall you are so long as you are a we get along, all is right with the world). I think that as long as you can get past the fact that I like One Direction…. We will be fine :P
I think that is enough for now, if you have more you want to know, just ask.
