Working on the Jack-of-all-Trades thing. There’s a love/hate thing when it comes to writing about one self. On one hand I love writing about all the things that excite me and the things I do, but on the other I hate to come off sounding pompous or arrogant. But here it goes.

Most people online have a hard time believing I’m in my mid twenties and tell me that in the way I write they imagine someone who is a fair bit older. I don’t think I come across sounding anywhere near as sophisticated when I’m speaking in person as I truly believe my fingers are more articulate than my brain (they even spell better). I love to write, period. I have been writing stories and silly things since I was seven years old; never published though.

I’m probably what most people would consider a nerd or geek. Even my friends at times have called me a “walking encyclopedia”. I like to know at least a bit about everything. I hate being in a conversation and not knowing what people around me are talking about; it just drives me crazy. So I spend a fair amount of time reading up on many different subjects.

“Good at everything, master of nothing.” Well I at least try to be decent at many things. I have hobbies that stretch from fixing computers to auto mechanics. I role play (like Dungeons & Dragons) with one set of friends, and race cars at the AutoX with another. Living an active and healthy lifestyle is important to me; I spend a good amount of time commuting on bicycle and just riding for the heck of it when I need to think. I’m definitely not Tour de Tucson finalist material though.

I have dreams, ambitions, and goals; I have to keep working hard to see them through. I’m always hoping to find more friends and eventually someone more than a friend who I can share those aspirations with and who will let me in to be a part of theirs.

I wish I could say I have a definite plan for where my life is heading. I have so many things I want to do though. I’d love to become a moderately successful author and make a living writing stories and articles. That would definitely make me the happiest, but as life in the arts is rather hit and miss I have plenty of backups that I focus on to continue to try and make a decent living.

Overall, I want to do something with my life that will leave an impact. If I were to die tomorrow I would want people to look back and go, “Wow, he made a difference” or “He really had an effect in my life.” I want to be the best person I can be, be kind and good to others, and inspire others to achieve their goals as well.

Maybe I should be a consultant…

I don’t think I’m really good at anything. I like being kind of the balanced person. As I said above, I’m working on that “Jack of all Trades” thing and part of that means that I may never be the best at anything. But at the same time there aren’t many things I’m bad at.

I have experience in a lot of different fields. I love anything techie. I work on computers and can tear them apart and put them back together decently well. A lot of people come to me because they need to know how to do something on their computer, or to find out what a certain message means. I work on mechanics too though; I lie under my car all day long and tinker with it and not realize how much time is passing by. I’ve been called a fitness nut, but I don’t think that’s exactly true. I know a good amount about health, and good foods vs bad foods and do things to try and stay healthy like commute by bicycle and exercise. There’s a lot to keep up with, but I get bored working on the same thing for too long.

Sadly, if I’m out in public and with my friends, the first thing people notice is probably that I’m being loud and dorky. My friends and I will have bouts of character enactments in random places and get far too into it. After the initial personality shock I work hard to keep energy levels strong. I don’t deal well with awkward silences and hate being caught without anything good to say, so I might keep talking about random things until I find a topic that excites the person I’m engaging and build off of that. By then hopefully the other person has noticed something good about me.

Books: I love so many different stories, like those by Douglas Adams, Rick Riordan, Robert Asprin, Tad Williams, and also classic stories such as those by H.G. Wells. Some of the books that come to mind are Escape from Exile by Robert Levy, At the Queen’s Command by Michael Stackpole and even self help books like those by Matthew Kelly.

Movies: In an all out blockbuster movie I like the gritty yet visually appealing styles presented by Christopher Nolan and J. J. Abrams in modern movies. Mel Brooks holds a special place in my heart for just amazingly good and funny movies. Independent and foreign films such as For a Lost Soldier can also leave a powerful impression. I tend to be a little critical of movies; I love action movies but I want a good story with few or no plot holes… It doesn’t happen too often… James Bond films tend to be pretty decent with that. I love a good plot twist like in Lucky Number Slevin. Though one of my favorite serious movies would have to be Dangerous Liasons; it might have been mostly drama, but it had the right amount of action and excitement in the form of betrayal to keep you more than a bit interested.

Television: I watch a lot of BBC Television: Doctor Who, Torchwood, Top Gear (I’ve seen almost every episode of Top Gear since 2003). The only real cop show I like watching is the original NCIS. Loads of anime too, especially classic anime (Classic being that it was around when I was a kid.) such as The Slayers, Trigun, Fushigi Yugi, and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Music: Trance: Most of what comes on After Hours FM especially XiJaro. Rock: bands like Shinedown, Linkin Park, Apocalyptica. My geeky fix I get by listening to Radio Rivendell. Also Classics from Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, and The Scorpions I get into whenever they come on too.

Food: I could never live in a place where I couldn’t get good Mexican food. Chorizo, carne asada, carnita adobado, and actual hot salsa and guacamole! Other than that I love different kinds of fruit, Jamba Juice, and have a bit of a weakness for carrot cake.

I like the new Transformers movies better than the original one!
