I am quixotic, insouciant, and droll.
My Self-Summary
Well, I nixed my old profile but decided to come back because
honestly, the tests are great and I had met a lot of really
interesting people here. I hate cataloging my strengths and
weakness because it kind of makes me feel like an economic
commodity, but I have a few personality traits and interests I'd
like to list. I mean, if I didn't list anything, how would you know
whether or not you want to talk to me? I really like my kayak,
hiking, playing drums, bad movies (kung fu, horror, foreign
suspense movies), trivia and board games (Cranium, Scrabble,
Balderdash, etc.), hung gar kung fu, tennis, ghost hunting (though
its really more like fishing) and pursuing my several random whims.
I am sociable, loyal, tactful yet honest, impetuous, fun-loving,
and prone to do goofy things just to keep things from getting
boring. I am also relatively prone to ramble but its only because I
don't get to use my education as often as I'd like as of yet and so
I make everyone around me a victim of this quirk.
What I’m doing with my life
Looking for a real job, studying for the bar exam. Not absolutely
sure being a lawyer is for me but its number one on the list right
now. and I do have my JD. I really want to be a folklorist though.
I’m really good at
I don't know, I'm a great friend as corny as that sounds. I am
really good at getting the best out of others and I have an almost
supernatural ability to read other people.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know, you tell me.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Ishmael, Almost a Miracles, The Stupidist Angel, Catch 22,
Choke, really anything by Christopher Moore, Chucky P., David
McCullough, historical non-fiction, fiction which is clever but not
too preachy. I'm a huge Lovecraft, Twain and Poe fan as well. I
also like Transcendentalist essays from the mid-19th century.
Movies: I love cheesy movies, far too many to list here but I'll
throw out a few so you get the idea; Fight Club, Ichi the Killer,
Battle Royale, Phantasm, Drag Me To Hell, Donnie Darko, The Evil
Dead Trilogy, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Dead Alive, movies by
the directors John Waters, Peter Jackson, Oliver Stone (sometimes),
Guillermo Del Toro, Terry Gilliam, Wes Anderson, the Cohen
Brothers, Takashi Miike, and oh so many more.
Music: Mainly 90's rock and grunge, bands like The Pixies (my
favorite), Sponge, Social D, Radiohead, Sound Garden, Foo Fighters,
Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Bloodhound Gang, other
types of glam rock, industrial and artists with clever or inspiring
lyrics.
Food: Thai, cajun, grilled vegetables, good beer, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Terrible puns, my awful sense of humor, a half a brain,
imagination, unfettered wilderness, friends and family.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Shiny objects
On a typical Friday night I am
Being my usual awesome self but surrounded by strangers and
acquaintances to appreciate it. Yeah! Or I'm hanging out with
friends and doing something which is hopefully fun and possibly
irresponsible.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am really superstitious.
You should message me if
You are interesting or at least entertaining and you'd like to send
me a message.
