My self-summary
In true form (and you'll see why in a second):

If it matters to you, depending on the day, the MBTI has scored me as an INTP, INFP, and INTJ.

I am an inquisitive person who values knowledge and justice. I try my best to approach things with logic and rationality, although my impulsive streak sometimes gets the better of me--which is not always unpleasant... I like thinking, learning, investigating, probing. I have a creative side that I like to indulge when I can, whether it's through music, writing, building things, or whatever. I like "things," but I don't care much about "stuff," if that makes sense.

I tend to do best with fewer people. Big gatherings and crowded places tire me out after a while, and I definitely have to take time to occasionally be by myself to "recharge my batteries." But I love talking to interesting people, getting beyond small talk, joking around (sometimes at my expense!), and nerdplay/wordplay. (As if you have any doubt, after I just typed that last sentence with a straight face.)

Not really my bag, as I'm a pretty devout atheist, but some aspects of Buddhism and Hinduism appeal to me. I don't do
crystals or magic(k) or any of that. If you do, whatever, as long as you're cool that I don't. It might even be kind of interesting, actually. There's kind of a power in symbology and ritual.

I'm pretty average height, but I think that overall I give off a kind of "long and lean" impression. I like being active/doing outdoorsy things, but it's something I'm trying to get back to after not doing much in that gray and rainy Portland winter/spring. Just signed up at a gym, so the weightlifting routine will be "fun" to get back into...

Basically, I enjoy looking and feeling at least reasonably fit and healthy. And luckily, I'm one of those people who doesn't get sick very often, which, if you are frequently exposed to as many exciting types of animal poop as I am, comes in handy.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been in Portland for not quite a year and a half now, checking out the sights here and there, but I know there are still tons of cool things and places that I've yet to experience.

I hate to say it, but my life is like something out of a Portlandia sketch. I live on a working farm run by a delightful lesbian couple. I literally saw a goat five minutes after it was born a couple of days ago. The other day there were two turkeys chilling on the roof outside my bedroom window.

Because we do a lot of work together, the household is pretty tight-knit. I help out however I can within whatever the weather and my time/energy/attention span will allow. I got laid off from my "real" job, but as the season ramps up at home, there's been farmers' markets and plenty to do--plus I have other income, so I'm able to take some time off and still do what I want, within reason. (No, I'm not anything nearly as interesting as a drug dealer or a prostitute, not that the government should have any say in the interactions of consenting adults, but I digress.)

Helping good people with their dream. Just figuring shit out. You know, dealing with the small questions, like how I want to spend the next portion of my life on this planet.
I’m really good at
Ridiculous portmanteaus.
Staying calm in a crisis.
Carrying feed bags.
Keeping an open mind, but not so open that my brains fall out.
Moving with a purpose.
Explaining things.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I probably already noticed them. Then, depending on how cooperative my ridiculous cowlick is being that day, probably that.
The six things I could never do without
I can do without making this profile any longer than it already is.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away." -- Thoreau
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm writing this part on a Saturday, so do you want to know what I did last night? I stayed up late, played a Sinead O'Connor song on my guitar, then decided it would be good to listen to an '80s hair metal playlist on YouTube. I wrote some Facebook messages to my little sister, and I played Spelunky. Yes, substances were involved. No, I'm not ashamed.

And no, not all Fridays are like that, but some of 'em are. Let she among you who has no Netflix in her evenings cast the first stone.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–35
  • Near me
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
If you have a little mystery to you.

If you, like me, are not in the market for anything super cereal and potentially not anything exclusive, but are also not necessarily opposed to things developing (or not!) as they will--then we're on the same page. I want to make positive connections with people who enjoy the time we spend around each other, whatever that means to us.

Dating is a game people play. I don't like to overthink it, except when I do. And like most games, the way you play can make the experience really shitty or really enjoyable. No intensity isn't fun.

...We're all gonna die anyhow. :)
