The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference
Malcolm Gladwell
The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or
social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like
wildfire, like our first kiss!
MOVIES
Gran Torino, Chocolat, Under the Tuscan Sun
SHOWS
I really enjoy watching a finely crafted TV series. Two of my
current favorites are Downton Abbey and Mad Men. I probably lived a
past life in a place like Downton Abbey and my childhood was
reminiscent of certain aspects of Don and Betty Draper's since I
grew up in Stamford, CT and my Dad worked on Madison Avenue.
MUSIC
Folk music was my first love, especially Judy Collins, Joan Baez
and Joni Mitchell whom many said I sounded like back in the day.
Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Bette Midler, Carole King, Laura
Nero, Roberta Flack were favorites. I loved watching bluesmen,
Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf jam on Sunday afternoons back in
Chicago. Most any Jazz, especially Latin Jazz. Anything with brass
like Chicago or Blood Sweat and Tears.
Current favorites include Adele, Michael Buble, Justin Timberlake,
Chris Brown, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' Thrift Shop.
FOOD
Whether it’s cooking at home after a trip to the local farmer’s
market for organic vegetables or dining out, I’m into trying
different cuisines from Thai to Tapas. I often try to cook foods
I’ve enjoyed while traveling. I think sampling regional cuisine is
one of the great joys of travel.
