My self-summary
I’m an Atlanta native raised on British comedy. It makes for an interesting linguistic pattern when I’ll use British English pronunciations with a “y’all” thrown in. On top of all that I’ve been dubbed more culturally Chinese than my friends from China. I’m sure between the Brits and the Chinese there’s a good tea joke somewhere in there, but then you’d have to throw in India – and I’m not going to find a pun for Darjeeling (for oh so many cultural faux pas). That being said, I devour history. My iPhone is filled more with random lectures and books from science and history than music.

My family raised me to be a self-starter. Because there are certain things where one is never enough I’ve built three businesses (two of which survive – the main one being my sports medicine practice), I help property manage my family's real estate acquisitions, and for fun I tutor two teenagers. I have to say – reliving eighth grade vicariously is much more fun the second time around!

I'm at a point in my life where finding the right someone seems to niggle in the back of my mind more often - someone who brings their own sense of drive, goals, and jioe de vivre. My brain is definitely set in the dopamine system and as such adore my relatively-small group of close-knitt friends, and Atlanta will always be my home. I find my own adventure in life and don't need to actively seek it through darring-do - preferring instead the quiet of a mountain trail or a dinner/game night at home with my friends.
What I’m doing with my life
I love my practice, and I can't imagine doing anything else. For fun I'm learning Mandarin and I've plans to reteach myself to play the piano.
I’m really good at
Cooking fish. I don't know how that happened as the best thing I learned to make in the kitchen when I was a child was reservations.

...and learning all the bad words and phrases in languages first.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books: At the moment my research sources, but in general those pertaining to mythology. The Richest Man in Babylon was probably the most influential in my life. I enjoy most of the Star Wars universe (especially the Thrawn stories); Guns Germs and Steel; the Disc World collection; and A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Favorite movies: The original Star Wars trilogy will always top my list. I also enjoy a good Monty Python "speak-a-long"; Gattaca; and Idiocracy.

Favorite shows: currently watching The Being Human (UK), and Game of Thrones. Other than that I keep Firefly and the IT Crowd on my computer at work...for emergencies, or just occasional downtime between patients. Be warned - the only way I know what is going on in the world is via Daily Show and Colbert Report...and my patients.

Favorite music: Here are a few examples that embody the sort of softer music that I like - HEM, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T2Knb0yO1s, a few songs from Gina Catalino http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCyEQ8-Ss48, and Over the Rhine, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7232rFHi9g

Favorite food: Lebanese and sushi
The six things I could never do without
Literal answers: Carbon bonding; social bonding (yay! Look Dad - I'm using that anthropology degree you said I should have switched to business); my father's advice (apparently); quantum frothing (it's like frothing at the knees, but less terminal...unless you open the box to a peeved cat); good friends who tell me what the new words that kids use these days mean so that I can keep some semblance of being "normal" online (Fie, I say we bring back "groovy" and be done with it!); and finally putting pen to paper (saves on quills, and makes for happy fowl)...Sorry - I like puns. I was raised on British Humour.

My real list would go something like this:
Asheville
British comedy
Goals (of the short, intermediate, and long varieties)
Natural history museums
Random texts that make me laugh
Ambition
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Mindlessness in the meditation sense, not the bumping into inanimate objects sense. Though I suppose I shouldn't really be "thinking" about mindlessness...

Oh the conundrum!

Silliness aside, I think a great deal on how to move forward with the next phases of my life: What and how to teach my child-to-be to grow into an upright character and continue to propel the family towards our intergenerational goals; what steps I can take to live even further below my means; how I can then increase my families' holdings; how I can get even more done in my day; and where I want to go for my vacation/reward for achieving my goals. This year it's Egypt, next year it's Shanghai, and perhaps Greece the year after.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually treating patients. Lest you think I'm a workaholic beyond redemption I have other evenings and other times of day free.
